| SNL: Michael Keaton Tribute Includes Beetlejuice, Batman (Video)
Michael Keaton made it big in the 1980s with lead roles in films like Beetlejuice and Batman, but the next two decades saw his career take a downward slump. But thanks to his lead turn in 2014 in the Academy Award-winning best picture Birdman, the 63-year-old actor has been riding high on the comeback wave. Last night saw Keaton return as host of Saturday Night Live for the first time since 1992. You would think the actor’s major comeback would be the subject of his opening monologue, but instead it was hijacked by SNL cast members Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan, who desperately wanted him to play Batman and Beetlejuice with them. | How ‘Birdman’ Was Filmed To Look Like It Was Shot In One Take (Video) |
 |

At first glance Birdman may just look like another one of those award-bait fanfare films because it is so meta and aware of the state of movies now. The film follows Riggan (Michael Keaton), a movie star whose claim to fame was portraying a superhero called Birdman in three films, but wants to regain the respect of Hollywood and his family by staging a play based on his career of being Birdman. Every transition so seamless and carefully planned. Naturally, the logistics wouldn’t allow the film to be shot in one take. Birdman uses many locations and takes place over the course of a few days; and there is also the fact that Riggan’s heroic consciousness pops up from time to time, so a single take would be impossible. But a new video has surfaced showing how Iñárritu and cinematographer Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki made the impossible, possible. Hit the jump to check it out.
