Gamescom 2019: ‘Gears Of War 5’ Story and Horde Trailers

Believe it or not, the latest game in the Gears of War franchise, Gears 5, is being released in just a few short weeks. A bit of a shock, I know. Unless you’ve been anxiously anticipating and following the game, of course.
For Gamescom 2019, some new trailers have been released. One looks at the game’s single-player campaign story, while the other looks at the Horde Mode. You can find both of those trailers below along with more info on the game and, as an added bonus, videos explaining the various multiplayer modes as well as a promo for the Halo: Reach character pack.

E3 2018: ‘Gears Of War 5’ Announce Trailers

During Microsoft’s E3 2018 briefing a bit of a troll was pulled when the familiar Gears of War symbol, a red skull inside a gear, appeared on the screen and excited the crowd. This excitement quickly died when Funko POP! versions of the characters showed up, and it was revealed that it was for a new mobile game titled Gears POP! instead of the highly anticipated next game in the series.
Thankfully they didn’t toy with the fans’ feelings for too long before it was announced that Gears of War 5, or simply Gears 5 as they’re apparently calling it, was indeed on the way. This was backed up with a pair of announce trailers, which you can find below along with more info on the game.

Game Review: Sea Of Thieves

Sea of Thieves
Xbox One
DEVELOPER: Rare
PUBLISHER: Microsoft Studios
RELEASE DATE: March 20, 2018
If you’ve been at all interested in Sea of Thieves, the new shared world pirate adventure game from developer Rare, chances are you’ve read a review or two for the game since its launch last week to see if it’s worth checking out. I’m here to offer a bit of a different perspective on the game than others.
This is a game meant to be played with friends or even total strangers. You join up with others, and set off pirate adventures together. But I’m not someone who often plays multiplayer and co-op type games, unless it’s quick competitive matches in something like Rocket League. I much prefer single-player games I can get lost in without having to worry about what other players are doing. That said I’ve been intrigued by the look of Sea of Thieves since we first saw it, and since there is an option to play alone I simply couldn’t help but dive in head first and see how a lonely pirate might fare.

Co-Op Fantasy RPG ‘Scalebound’ Canceled By Microsoft

A new co-op fantasy RPG from developer PlatinumGames and publisher Microsoft Studios was announced at E3 2014 titled Scalebound. The game was to offer co-op gameplay, with each player getting their own dragon companion to help in battles. This, as you might imagine, had gamers quite excited. Excitement only grew with the release of gameplay videos showing some epic battles you and your dragon would take part in.
