Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 combines a thrilling single player story with some very fine cooperative segments to make one of the best multiplayer games ever. This sequel takes place five years after the original Modern Warfare (all other Call of Duty games take place in a World War II setting), and sees you filling the shoes of multiple different characters as they fight in battles all over the world.

So I got up the other morning and started enjoying my first cup of coffee of the day while I check the internets and I came across one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard in my life.

It came from a quote from Eric Hirshberg, the new CEO of Activision, who is the publisher the Call of Duty games.

Are you ready for it?

You have to be sure, because it made me really mad.

Some strange and interesting breaking news being reported by G4 tonight. Apparently right this moment as you read this, Infinity Ward has been taken over by a bunch of “bouncer-type” security sorts who refused to disclose who they were or why they were there.

None of the employees of Infinity Ward seem to have any clue why this is happening or who’s behind it, but everyone there is naturally concerned and worried about what is actually going on. To make matters even worse for the employees, apparently studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West had a meeting with Activision earlier this morning, but have not been seen or heard from since then.

This sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare sold almost 5 million copies in its first day of release back in November, so chances are, most of you who wanted it already own it, but if you were holding out for a sale — the day is here! One of the most exciting things to receive as a gift on Christmas is video games. For me personally, nothing beats the morning I was given the Sega Genesis system I never thought I would possibly get, and playing Sonic’s elusive blue hide right into the ground. And even though that childlike joy will never be experienced again for me, and video game systems are a whole lot different and more expensive these days, it’s still exciting to open up a new video game you haven’t played yet.
