| Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Wilkinson, More In Talks For ‘Skull Island’
Following the news that Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Short Term 12), and Russell Crowe were in talks to appear in Skull Island, Legendary’s reimagining of the story of the home island of King Kong, comes word that the film may add a couple of big names to the cast. According to a new report, the studio is eying Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers, Pulp Fiction), Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins, Michael Clayton), and John C. Reilly (Wreck-It Ralph, Guardians of the Galaxy) to the cast. They’d be joining Tom Hiddleston and Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins. Check out the full story below.

| Brie Larson In Talks For ‘Kong: Skull Island’; Russell Crowe Possible
The United States of Tara star Brie Larson has entered into negotiations to play the female lead in the King Kong origins movie, Kong: Skull Island. Larson would join Thor, The Avengers, and Crimson Peak star Tom Hiddleston on the cast. The cast also once included recent Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton and recent Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons, but both of them had to step away from the movie due to scheduling conflict. One actor who is said to be a possible replacement for one of the departed stars is Russell Crowe, but whether or not he’ll be interested in the role won’t be known until the next draft of the movie is turned in and he can read it.

| Michael Keaton In Talks For ‘Kong: Skull Island’
Michael Keaton is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Kong: Skull Island, according to Deadline, who had the exclusive on the news. The Batman actor, who has been receiving high praise for his recent role in Birdman as a Hollywood has-been famous for an old superhero role, is reportedly “finalizing a deal” to join Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) and J.K. Simmons (Juno) in the King Kong feature directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

| Legendary’s ‘Skull Island’ Gets New Name & Release Date
Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today a name change for their King Kong film Skull Island, as well as a new release date. Skull Island is now Kong: Skull Island and Universal will release the film in 3D and IMAX 3D on Friday, March 10, 2017 (moved from its original date of November 4, 2016). The project was originally announced in July at San Diego Comic-Con, where attendees got to see a teaser for the film. Soon after, we learned that Avengers star Tom Hiddleston had signed on to the project, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts on board to direct.

| ‘Godzilla’ Scribe Max Borenstein Returns To Pen Sequel |

We won’t be seeing a Godzilla sequel anytime soon due to the fact that Gareth Edwards is currently preparing to direct one of the Star Wars spin-off movies. In fact, it will be almost four years until we get to see Godzilla stomp around again. But Edwards is confirmed to direct its sequel, and he will make sure that the next installment will have even more destruction than the last. That’s because he confirmed that Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah will be in the film. And if Edwards sticks to the same tone in the first film for the sequel as he said he would, it probably means that we will see a very restrained battle for the crown of the King of Monsters. But screenwriter Max Borenstein made every minute count, and he will have to do so again. Deadline confirms that the Godzilla scribe is returning to write the tentatively titled Godzilla 2. The film opened with $93 million in its first weekend, then lost its top spot to X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Since then Godzilla has earned a fairly impressive $524 million worldwide.
