| SDCC 2018: ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’ Trailer: Titans Fight For Kaiju Crown
“Long live the king.” Ever since Godzilla: King of the Monsters was confirmed, many wondered who the king of the monsters would be facing next. It turns out, it’s not just a one-on-one fight, but a battle royale. That’s because Godzilla is facing off against some of his greatest kaiju adversaries: Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. The film has been in production for a while, with Warner Bros. scheduling the long-awaited sequel for a May 2019 release. Now the wait for that first look is over. While at San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and crew were there to talk about the film, and also present a new trailer. And boy, does it set the tone. | Geek Peek: First Look At ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’ (Images)
A pair of images have arrived offering us our first peek at Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the much anticipated sequel to 2014’s Godzilla. The movie, which is directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus), picks up about five years after the events of the first movie—the same as the two movies themselves by the time King of the Monsters is released—at a time when the world is still understandably shocked over the insanity of actual giant monsters showing up and wreaking havoc. In addition to the images, Dougherty also shared some info on King of the Monsters including whether or not it sets up the blockbuster mega-showdown Godzilla vs. Kong. You can find it all below.

| ‘Godzilla 2’: Full Cast and Story Details Confirmed As Filming Begins
The sequel to director Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla reboot has started shooting, and the full cast and some story details have been confirmed. The movie was previously said to be titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but that title isn’t mentioned in the press release, so we’re back to just Godzilla 2 for the time being. The movie is part of what Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures’ are calling their “MonsterVerse” shared universe. It began with the ’14 Godzilla, and was continued with this year’s Kong: Skull Island. Eventually it will lead to a clash of titans in Godzilla vs. Kong, which is set to be helmed by Blair Witch and The Guest director Adam Wingard. That’s because Stranger Things star and rapping extraordinaire Millie Bobby Brown will be joining Legendary’s long-awaited Godzilla sequel. More on the story below. | Sequels ‘Godzilla 2’ and ‘Pacific Rim 2’ Get New Titles
The next Godzilla, which we’ve simply been calling Godzilla 2, and the sequel to Pacific Rim, previously known as Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, have both been given shiny new official titles by Legendary Pictures. The studio has revealed that the sequel to director Gareth Edwards’ (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) 2014 Godzilla reboot will be called Godzilla: King of Monsters—inspired by Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the title of the 1956 U.S. release of Japan’s original Godzilla—while the sequel to director Guillermo del Toro‘s (Pan’s Labyrinth) own 2013 monster movie Pacific Rim will now be called Pacific Rim: Uprising.
