| SDCC 2015: Conan Hosts The Cast Of ‘Game Of Thrones’
Conan is live at San Diego Comic-Con this week, and host Conan O’Brien‘s had my dream job with guest Chris Hardwick on Wednesday night, after a Mad Max intro and some loony Wolverine auditions. He also had a lot of swearing with the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 on Thursday night. Last night he got the pleasure of interviewing the cast of two of my favorite shows, Game Of Thrones and The Walking Dead. Watch both parts of the GoT interview below.

The Game Of Thrones panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con just wrapped, and while there was obviously no new footage from the HBO series shown — as 10-episode Season 5 concluded last month — fans in Hall H did get a treat — a 2-minute audition reel! Watch the audition reel here below. In the video, you’ll see Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell “The Red Viper”), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), and more trying out for their respective roles on GoT.

Game Of Thrones

Remember back in Episode 8 when shit got real when the White Walkers showed up at the Wildling camp, killed tons of people, and then rose them from the dead to be a part of their undead army? Ok, well, that was shit getting real on a supernatural level. On last week’s Game Of Thrones, Episode 5.9 “The Dance Of Dragons,” it got real on an emotional level. “King” Stannis finally agreed to let Melisandre sacrifice his only child — his lovable, sweet daughter Shireen — to the Lord of Light so he’d have the means to continue on to Winterfell so he can defeat Roose Bolton. We had to watch in horror as poor young Shireen realized her fate and called out to her parents for help as she burned at the stake, but her cries fell on deaf ears. Over in Meereen, Daenerys once again came under attack by the Sons of the Harpy, who infiltrated the stands at the Daznak’s Pit, slaughtering the spectators and taking aim at their new ruler. Dany and her council barely escaped with the lives thanks to the return of Drogon, the large of Dany’s dragon’s who’s been out flying free for a long time now as his siblings stay chained beneath the The Great Pyramid.

Air date: Sunday, June 7, 2015, 9pm Spoilers ahead for Season 5 of Game Of Thrones, and a recap of Episodes 5.8 and 5.9. In last week’s Game Of Thrones, Episode 5.8 “Hardhome,” shit got real. Seriously. After five seasons of waiting for it, winter finally arrived and with it came the Undead. Jon Snow had taken several brothers of the Night’s Watch with his to Hardhome, the Wildling camp, in an effort to convince the Free Folk to join the men of Westeros against the coming White Walkers. As luck would have it, soon after Jon’s arrival, the White Walkers came and did the unimaginable — they slaughtered lots of people and then rose them from the dead to serve in their army! Back in King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister was still rotting in her cell beneath the Red Keep, awaiting her trial, still refusing to confess her sins. Arya Stark assumed a new identity as part of her training to become one of the Faceless Men. Sansa was given a glimmer of hope when Theon/Reek revealed that he never murdered her brothers. Sansa’s sadistic new husband Ramsay wanted “20 good men” to defeat Stannis, whose withering forces are struggling on their way to Winterfell, where Ramsay’s father Roose resides as Warden Of The North. Over in Meereen, Daenerys appointed Tyrion to be her new advisor as she resumes her plans to take over Westeros.

Air date: Sunday, May 31, 2015, 9pm Spoilers ahead for Season 5 of Game Of Thrones, and a recap of Episodes 5.7 and 5.8. In last week’s Game Of Thrones, Episode 5.7 “The Gift,” sweet, elderly Maester Aemon — the last Targaryen aside from Daenerys (that we know of yet!!!) — dies a peaceful death of natural causes (a rarity in this show); newlywed Sansa Stark was repeatedly abused by her new husband Ramsay Bolton with no escape in sight; Stannis continued his march to Winterfell to take it over from the Boltons, even though his hired guns are deserting and they’re running out of provisions; Queen of Thorns Olenna Tyrell met with the High Sparrow in an effort to get her imprisoned grandchildren released to no avail, but her recently returned ally Littlefinger had a plan for revenge on Cersei; and Cersei, who had armed the High Sparrow and his followers as the Faith Militant so she could get rid of the Tyrells, found herself arrested by them and thrown into a cell. At Castle Black, Sam loses his virginity to Gilly, while Jon Snow takes off with Tormund to convince the other Wildlings to ally with the men of Westeros against the coming White Walkers. In Meereen, Jorah Mormont returned to battle in the fighting pits, which ended in his triumph and Daenerys’s first meeting with Tyrion Lannister!
