One of the most exciting things to receive as a gift on Christmas is video games. For me personally, nothing beats the morning I was given the Sega Genesis system I never thought I would possibly get, and playing Sonic’s elusive blue hide right into the ground. And even though that childlike joy will never be experienced again for me, and video game systems are a whole lot different and more expensive these days, it’s still exciting to open up a new video game you haven’t played yet.

Nintendo announced last month that it would be lowing the price of its highly popular Nintendo Wii game console by $50.

So, right now, the Nintendo Wii is available for only $199!

Nintendo said they felt like many potential users were priced out of the gaming experience with the original $250 price, which has been the cost since its release in 2004.

Nintendo will also release New Super Mario Bros. Wii on November 15; it’s available for pre-order now. Amazon has a special right now where you get $10 off a future video game purchase when you order New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first Mario Bros. game to accommodate four players at the same time.

Today’s Gold Box deal of the day over at Amazon is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for Nintendo Wii for only $25.98!

The events of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed occur between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and has an expansive story in which you get to play Darth Vader’s secret young apprentice, who plans to annihilate the Jedi.
