Somehow, I managed to read Noah: The Official Movie Novelization, as well as the Young Adult adaptation Noah: Ila’s Story, and Noah, the graphic novel adaptation all before ever seeing Darren Aronofsky’s feature film, starring Russell Crowe as the title character.
Each of the adaptations has their merits and I found that I enjoyed all three versions. But, which edition is best? Well, that would depend on what type of reader you are.

Watch This ‘Noah’ Ark Featurette (Video)

This weekend saw the theatrical release of Noah, the biblical epic from director Darren Aronofsky, who co-wrote the screenplay. The story goes in preparation for the Great Flood, Noah and his family must build an ark and gather into it enough animals so that every species will survive the disaster in order to go on to repopulate the Earth.
When it came to making Noah, the filmmakers had to pay great attention to the ark itself. Paramount Pictures has released a 4 1/2-minute featurette that gives a behind-the-scenes look on the making of the ark and includes interview footage with Aronofsky, actor Russell Crowe (who stars as Noah), and others, along with scenes from the film.
Check out the featurette here below.

‘Noah’ Trailer: Darren Aronofsky Envisions The Great Flood
|
 |

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah. The film is based on the biblical story of Noah, who built a giant ark and saved two of every animal and his family, while the rest of the world was purged by the Great Flood. The difference is that Noah is seen more as a builder in the Bible and Aronofsky is depicting the Biblical figure as a warrior. While this is the first time that the general public has seen footage, the trailer features footage that was presented at various religious conferences throughout the country.
There has been some conflict with Aronofsky and Paramount about the final edit of the film though. Test screenings have not been favorable, but those who have seen the film at religious conferences would probably tell you differently. Paramount has invested a fair amount of cash into Noah, which could turn out to be an epic hit or an epic failure depending on who gets the final cut. Hit the jump to see the trailer.

‘Noah’ Set Photos Of Russell Crowe In Costume; First Image Of Ark Released

We’ve already seen the first image of Russell Crowe as Noah in Darren Aronofsky‘s new movie version of the biblical tale, titled Noah. Now comes some new set photos of the actor in costume.
Unlike that first image of Crowe, Noah doesn’t have hair on his head in these set photos and he is also looking like quite the bad ass. Noah is said to have been 600 years old when the whole flood thing went down, but I surely wouldn’t mess with him.
Also recently released is the first image of the completed ark that Noah built, which doesn’t look at all like you’d expect it to. You can see all of the images below.

Check Out The First Image Of Russell Crowe From Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

The story of Noah is among one of the greatest Biblical stories ever told, and Darren Aronofsky will finally be able to bring his vision of a man who saved his family and many animals from an epic flood to the big screen after years of gestating. Of course his vision will have a slight twist, but it will also keep the spirit of the story. So after a couple of casting rumors and set photo reveals from the director himself, we are getting our first look at Russell Crowe as the titular hero. Check it out below.
Crowe looks rugged and his clothing is tattered, but other than that, there isn’t too much to describe about the image. But we’ve seen giant set photos of the ark in the past, which suggest that this is going to be one of Aronofsky’s biggest films. The director occasionally posts photos on his twitter account to update his fans on the progress of the film.

Jennifer Connelly Officially In Talks To Join Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

Once Darren Aronofsky’s Noah was greenlit, talks of who could be cast as Noah, his wife, and the villain began. Russell Crowe was attached and eventually signed on to play as the titular character. Liam Neeson was in talks to play as the villain, as was Liev Schreiber, and most recently Ray Winstone. But as to who could play Noah’s wife, the choice doesn’t come off as a complete surprise.
Jennifer Connelly was rumored to be in talks to play as Noah’s wife for a long time. Connelly has been in Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream and starred alongside Crowe as his wife in Ron Howard’s A Beautiful Mind, so she has experience with working with the two. Many of the previous reports went with the fact that she was in talks, considering she was one of the choices to play Noah’s wife. The other one being Julianne Moore.

Emma Watson & Liev Schreiber Up For Roles In Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

When Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth were cast in Darren Aronofsky‘s biblical epic, Noah, as Noah’s (played by Russell Crowe) sons, we learned that Liam Neeson was no longer being considered for the role of the villain and also that there was a love interest role for Noah’s older son, Shem (to be played by Lerman). Now we know who will be playing as his love interest and who might be Neeson’s replacement.
According to a report from Deadline, Harry Potter star Emma Watson is now in talks to play as the unnamed love interest for Shem. As for Neeson’s replacement, X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Liev Schreiber is now being considered to fill the role. Yeah, I am just as surprised as you to hear there will be a villain in the film. But according to the report, Schreiber is the top contender for the job.

Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth Join Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

A few more names are climbing aboard Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. Russell Crowe has already signed on to play as the titular character and Saorise Ronan and Jennifer Connelly are in for unknown roles, possibly as characters closely related to Noah. It is rumored that Connelly will play Noah’s wife. Now Deadline is reporting that Logan Lerman (Awake) and Douglas Booth (upcoming Romeo and Juliet) are signed up to play as Noah’s sons.
According to the report, Booth will play the younger son Shem, while Lerman will play as the elder sibling Ham. While we have confirmed a few more characters for Aronofsky’s biblical movie, we still don’t know what Ronan’s part is in all of this. The site says that there is a role for a love interest for Noah’s oldest son in the film, so there is a possibility that she could fulfill that role.
