The Vestron Video Collector’s Series unleashes cult horror-comedies Waxwork and Waxwork II: Lost in Time for the first time on limited-edition Blu-ray on October 18 from Lionsgate.

Written and directed by Anthony Hickox (Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth), 1988’s Waxwork follows a group of college students “” Mark (Zach Galligan, Gremlins), China (Michelle Johnson), Sarah (Deborah Foreman), Gemma (Clare Carey), James (Eric Brown), and Tony (Dana Ashbrook) “” as they visit a mysterious wax museum, only to enter another dimension where the morbid displays are living, breathing monsters.

Looks like my birthday came a little early! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a little throwback to my youth, especially when it’s a crossover of two of my favorite shows. Batman ’66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel #1 brings my favorite DC hero face to face with my favorite British television characters (my apologies to The Doctor, but it’s true). I still stop and watch any Avengers episodes whenever I find them on television. And of course, Batman is probably more popular in my house than I am.

But enough about me, on to the review!

Directed by Joe Dante (Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, Gremlins), The Howling is 1981 horror film written by John Sayles and Terence H. Winkless and features an original music score composed by Pino Donaggio.

Based on Gary Brandner’s 1977 novel, The Howling arrives on Blu-ray June 18, 2013 with a well-stocked selection of commentaries, interviews, featurettes, and deleted scenes. The film stars Dee Wallace (E.T., Critters, Cujo) as Karen White, a Los Angeles television news anchor who is being stalked by a serial murderer named Eddie Quist (Robert Picardo). In cooperation with the police, she takes part in a scheme to capture Eddie by agreeing to meet him in a sleazy porno shop.
