Yes, you read that correctly. No, it’s not the War Machine that you are probably thinking of. This is Brad Pitt‘s War Machine, a satrical comedy from David Michôd (Animal Kingdom). Based on the nonfiction bestseller The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan, by late journalist Michael Hastings, Pitt will play a four-star military general who is modeled after Stanley McChrystal.

With all that has happened to Marc Forster‘s adaptation of Max Brooks‘ World War Z, you might think that the zombie apocalypse actually happened. For one thing, the film, which stars Brad Pitt, went through many rewrites and reshoot, by the time the film actually entered the extensive reshooting phase, which forced the film to push back its original release date, many deemed the film dead on arrival.

So a new trailer has arrived and you can judge for yourself if the film was worth the wait, but from what I have been hearing, the film is a complete departure from the Brooks’ novel, and that is sure to upset fans of the book. Check it out below.

A lot of people seemed to be pretty excited about an adaptation of the Max Brooks novel, World War Z. The book tells the story of a zombie outbreak and the human fight against them told through various first-person accounts of the devastating event.

A movie adaptation of the book has been in the works for a long while now with Brad Pitt attached to star and his Plan B Entertainment producing. The script was originally written by J. Michael Straczynski and recently rewritten by Matthew Michael Carnahan, with Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster locked to helm the project. Even with the long developmental period all signs pointed to World War Z being a huge future blockbuster, but now Paramount Pictures is having second thoughts…and they might just call it off completely.

The glaring issue that most who are not fans seem to have with The Twilight Saga is that the vampires portrayed within it are too pretty, too clean, and, well…too boring, to be blunt. It would appear as though Summit Entertainment — the studio behind Twilight — doesn’t completely disagree, as they are now officially developing a new movie that will be based on the vampire behind all vampires: Dracula.

The studio will produce along with Brad Pitt‘s Plan B Entertainment and is currently in negotiations with Anthony Mandler to direct the film. Mandler is another of one of the many up-and-coming directors who currently has a lot of music video work under his belt, but no feature films yet. The movie is being described as an period action story called Vlad — titled of course for the original Dracula we know as Vlad the Impaler — that will follow the feared being as a young prince.

Word has it that Summit has been developing the project for a while now unbeknownst to anyone else. It wasn’t until Mandler prepared a reel that was compared to Zack Snyder’s 300 that really impressed them and motivated them to get things moving forward in a more official fashion.

Reports have been coating the Internet over the past few days that a new movie is being made based on the multi-platform video game, Dark Void, and that mega-star Brad Pitt could possibly star in the lead role. Reliance Entertainment and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment have officially acquired the rights to the property and are currently developing the idea.

There’s a tiny bit of a problems with stories like this, however, as none of it is nearly as likely as it sounds through the eyes. First, and most importantly, is the fact that Dark Void is a video game that no one knows much about yet — it could be the greatest game ever made, it could be the worst ever made; no one will really know until the game is released in January. The two studios will do their best to develop a good strategy, for sure, but until they see how it does and how the story plays to audiences, this is still a project that might not even happen.
