Hence why we’ve resurrected our long-defunct column Bits Of Doom, now rebranded and revamped as Doom Digest, a collection of easily digestible bits of news, videos, photos, and other goodies. Predator in a game of chess, a new mash-up of Alien and Prometheus, Abrams Books will publish another Star Trek “365” book, plus Bits Of Doom.

If you’ve consumed every theatrical trailer, television spot, featurette, and every bit of viral marketing for Ridley Scott‘s upcoming sci-fi thriller Prometheus and you’re still chest-bursting with anticipation for more – then this one’s for you. If you’re actively ignoring Prometheus promotional materials in an effort to avoid spoilers and plot details, turn back now… The Prometheus (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is available for purchase on MP3 (the CD will be out on June 12) and it’s filled with potential spoilers. Since working as music supervisor on Scott’s 2005 film Kingdom Of Heaven, Marc Streitenfeld has scored all of his subsequent films including A Good Year, Body Of Lies, Robin Hood, American Gangster, and now Prometheus.

| New ‘Prometheus’ Featurette Focuses On The Origins Of Humanity |

Any and all forthcoming Prometheus featurettes and trailers should now be considered spoilerish. If you are of the group that loves to see anything and everything about Ridley Scott‘s upcoming movie, then by all means watch the following featurette for Prometheus. However, if you are of the group that doesn’t like to be spoiled, then turn back now and read a different article (like this one about today’s new comic books!). The new featurette (which you can watch here below), appropriately titled “Origins,” focuses on the search for the beginning of humanity and how their search leads them to the planet, which can spell the demise of the new space explorers. Ridley Scott, co-screenwriter Damon Lindelof, and actress Noomi Rapace talk about their experiences both in front and behind the cameras. But out of all the Prometheus featurettes we have seen in the past, this one seems to be the least bit spoilerly. Still the new Prometheus featurette is worth a look.

| Guillermo Del Toro Says ‘Prometheus’ Is the Demise Of ‘At The Mountains Of Madness’
Before Guillermo Del Toro started filming his directorial effort Pacific Rim, he saw his adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness stall over at Universal Picturess due to budgetary concerns over an R-rated projected. At first there was a slight chance that the film could be produced after Del Toro was finished working on Pacific Rim, but those dreams have been quickly dashed thanks in part to Ridley Scott. Del Toro recently commented on his official website, Del Toro Films, stating that Mountains may never happen because the film bares a strong resemblance to Scott’s upcoming film Prometheus.
