Each and every week, I, “The Henchman of Earth 21!” Henchman 21 and “Empress of Earth 53!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of August 20, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. This is a week of comics that is dominated by one big release that everyone is going to be talking about, which is why we’re here. This is the perfect chance to talk about books that may get lost in the shuffle of a giant release, and that’s just what we’re going to do. Of course, I can’t just ignore that giant release either, so I’m going to get into that shortly. It’s a week of dreams, dreamers, and crazy worlds which sounds like just the kind of thing we like here on The GoD List!

Each and every week, I, “Where you at, Eve?” Henchman 21 and “Comic Con International: San Diego, Baby!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of July 23, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Well, it’s Comic Con International: San Diego (still using the full name of the show) and that means lots of people packing, going to the airport, dealing with security, all that jazz. It also means that comic book companies are releasing a lot of product this week, so we have got a lot to talk about. And if Comic-Con wasn’t enough for comic fans this week, DC has also decided that today is Batman Day, in honor of the character’s 75th anniversary. So we’ve got that going for us. Which is nice. So dive in, because there is just too much to list today and I find myself with a lot to write about for this week’s The GoD List!

| Blake Northcott’s 3 Hottest #NCBD Picks For November 27, 2013Rat Queens #3 (Image Comics – $3.50) returns this month, with two different covers by Roc Upchurch. And each cover, upon inspection, perfectly reflects the tone of the series. Cover A depicts the titular quartet of hell-raising women doing what they do best: wreaking havoc. Creatures are stabbed, blood flies, and Hannah, the Elven mage, conjures a little magic to top it off. Cover B is more of a pin-up, but Violet – the hipster Dwarf – isn’t your stereotypical comic book pin-up model. She’s filthy, bloodstained, and beaten from her most recent brawl, with a nasty gash marking her left cheek. The look on her face says it all; it feels like a derisive message to the status quo, breaking through the fourth wall. “No, I’m not a sex kitten in a spandex outfit…I kick asses for a living. Deal with it.”

| Blake Northcott’s 3 Hottest #NCBD Picks For November 20, 2013Yes, I admit it: one of the best comics I’ve read this year is about magical orgasms. This week, Sex Criminals #3 (Image Comics – $3.50), written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky, will be the first book I tear into the moment I get home from collecting my stash.
