Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a horror comic! I have long been searching for a horror comic that not only delivers a few good chills, but also maintains a fun, yet serious tone, and I have finally found it in Ragemoor!

Ragemoor #1 tells the story of a castle built 3,000 years before Christ, on the blood, sweat, and tears of Pagans, and the family, or rather, remaining member of the family, who resides in it. But when a distant Uncle comes to claim the castle for his own with dubious intent, we quickly learn that the castle has a mind of its own!

Dark Horse Comics
Release Date: November 30, 2011
Cover Price: $17.99

Mike Mignola and John Arcudi have crafted the Hellboy and B.P.R.D. universe in a way that is continually referencing the past. In a world in which the dead rarely stay dead and old enemies rise to cause havoc again, it is important to know the history of most B.P.R.D. books. In B.P.R.D.: Being Human Mignola and Arcudi tackle the often brought up but seldom detailed pasts of B.P.R.D. agents Abe Sapien, Roger, Liz, and Johann. In this collection of backstories we are introduced to the dark and often devastating pasts of each character as they go on their first field mission or struggle with life as a B.P.R.D. field agent. Some stories are stronger then others in this trade paperback, but the introduction of each character’s past is all wonderfully developed and a must-read for any B.P.R.D. fan.

Cover Price: $14.99

It seems like Mike Mignola and artist Richard Corben had one plan for their recent collaboration on Hellboy: House of the Living Dead. Pack the graphic novel with as many classic horror monsters as possible then have Hellboy beat them to a bloody pulp. Congratulations guys, mission accomplished, they were all there in a manner of speaking, vampires, monsters, ghosts, and let’s not forget Hellboy, kicking in all their skulls. Mignola expresses his affections towards classic B horror movies in his introduction and proceeds to craft a love letter to them through Hellboy: House of the Living Dead, a love letter written in the blood of several unfortunate ghouls.

Hellboy Returns To Mexico In ‘Dark Horse Presents #7’

Hellboy in MexicoIf you were worried that you’d never get to see any more Hellboy stories following the events of Hellboy: The Fury #3, well, you probably didn’t read the last page promising his return in 2012.

Okay, you probably know that the Hellboy series hasn’t ended, but we’re still not sure what’s going to happen to the character himself after the shocking ending. Perhaps not surprisingly, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is going to mine the character’s rich (fictional) history by telling stories set in his past. The first of these stories will see publication in Dark Horse Presents #7, and will be titled Hellboy vs. The Aztec Mummy. The issue hits shelves in January 2012.

Hellboy vs. The Aztec Mummy will be an 8-page story and is the follow-up to the 2010 one-shot Hellboy in Mexico, written by Mignola with art by comics legend and frequent Hellboy collaborator Richard Corben. Hellboy vs. The Aztec Mummy features Hellboy fighting a Mexican bat-god, a luchadore, and as the title explains, an Aztec Mummy.
