Jurassic World Chris Pratt

Late last year, an intrepid YouTube user going by the handle ChiefBrodyRules (yes, yes, he certainly does) created a fan trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the manner of a VHS sneak preview for a 1980’s Cannon Films B-action flick, and it was undeniably awesome.

The Chief’s latest triumph of imagination, ingenuity, and clever video editing skills re-imagines this past summer’s biggest global blockbuster, Jurassic World, as the sort of star-packed, high-concept disaster movie the late Irwin Allen pioneered, with more than a reasonable helping of dark science-fiction.

Brewster's Millions

It’s being reported that Warner Brothers have hired Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan to write a script based on the 1902 George Barr McCutcheon novel, Brewster’s Millions.

The concept for Brewster’s Millions is simple and really brilliant, yet incredibly complicated at the same time. Basically, it tells the story of a man who finds out that his super wealthy relative has passed away and left him a challenge which could see him inherit a massive fortune.

The challenge varied from movie to movie (seven movies before this eighth, to be exact), but the best-known is from the 1985 version that starred late greats Richard Pryor and John Candy. In this version, Monty (Pryor) is offered the chance to receive $300 Million, if he is able to successfully spend $30 Million within 30 days. This sounds easy at first, but there are some catches: mainly, he can’t own one possession when the money is spent, and he can’t just buy insanely expensive objects and destroy them, along with some other rules.

Pryor/Murphy

HitFix has confirmed that Eddie Murphy will play his idol and legendary comedian Richard Pryor in an upcoming drama/biopic Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? for Fox Searchlight.

The movie will be written and directed by Bill Condon. Condon has written the scripts for Best Picture winner Chicago and brilliant documentary The Devil and Daniel Webster. He’s also written and directed well-respected movies like Kinsey and Dreamgirls.

Richard Pryor died in 2005, but he was one of those guys that was so loved and so respected, that it still doesn’t even feel like he’s gone. It will be interesting to see how a movie about him looks. Apparently the movie will also be casting multiple female roles for the wives of Pryor, as well as the also legendary Red Foxx.
