Sylvester Stallone Reveals ‘Rambo 5’ Title; ‘Creed’ To Start Filming In Philly
A fifth Rambo film has been officially on the table since 2009, when Millennium Films and Nu Image gave the Sylvester Stallone action sequel the green light.
Now, Stallone has revealed the title for the new film — Rambo: Last Blood.
The actor, who’s starred as John Rambo in the previous installments — First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), and Rambo III (1988), Rambo (2008) — posted to his Twitter account that he’d be working on what he called Last Blood.

A southpaw underdog wants to make it as a big time fighter, but he just can’t catch a break. He gets kicked out of his locker at the local gym, run by Mickey. He’s just a little too soft for his job as a loan shark’s muscle (won’t break bones). And the girl he’s crushing on won’t give him the time of day. That is, until Apollo Creed unexpectedly needs a new opponent when his original opponent for the world heavyweight title drops out because of an injury.
Ever the businessman, he wants to fight one of Philly’s own, a nobody that gets a shot at the title. He chooses “The Italian Stallion,” Rocky Balboa. Rocky wins over shy pet shop girl Adrian with a little help from her brother Paulie, gains Mickey as a trainer, has a training montage complete with running up those famous steps, and wows everyone in the climactic fight.

Sylvester Stallone To Produce ‘Rocky’ Musical For Broadway
A musical adaptation of Sylvester Stallone‘s the Oscar-winning 1976 film is headed to Broadway next year. This stage interpretation of Rocky brings together Tony Award-winning writer Thomas Meehan (The Producers, Hairspray) with composer Stephen Flaherty and lyricist Lynn Ahrens, whose many collaborations include the musical Ragtime.
Directing the production is Alex Timbers, who is currently directing the David Byrne-Fatboy Slim musical, Here Lies Love, and the musical-play hybrid Peter and the Starcatcher. Fight choreography is by Steven Hoggett (Once), with dance choreography by Kelly Devine (Rock of Ages).
