Sunday night marked the premiere of season 6 of Game of Thrones, HBO’s money-making, ratings-slaying fantasy featuring warring kingdoms, amazing characters… and those characters meeting horrible ends in the worst possible ways. The gang at Screen Junkies, always staying abreast (hehe) of pop culture went back as well and did an Honest Trailer for seasons 4 and 5 of the hit show. They already did a great HT for seasons 1-3. Obviously if you’re not up to date… spoilers ahead!

The views have been counted and the winner of the Batman v Superman Honest Trailers-off is… Superman… really? That means the gang at Screen Junkies were forced, by us, to give the HT treatment to Bryan Singer’s 2006’s homage/sequel/remake/reboot… “hobootquel” of Richard Donner’s 1978 classic, Superman Returns. This marks the 4th time the Screen Junkies team have dabbled in the Superman franchise, with Donner’s Quest for Peace and Man of Steel already having one.

I gotta admit, Jon Favreau’s live action Jungle Book movie looks pretty badass. With the film opening this week, the gang at Screen Junkies built on a growing tradition of giving the Honest Trailer treatment to a beloved Disney classic animated film. With Lion King, Aladdin, and one of their biggest hits, Frozen done, it’s time to cue up “Bare Necessities” and take aim at 1967’s The Jungle Book.

Sorry it took me til the weekend to review Tuesday’s Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies, but I was busy watching my new copy of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray. And will you look at that, the Honest Trailer is Star Wars: Episode 7, maybe one of the most anticipated Honest Trailers to date. The trailer is rated S for spoilers even though, let’s face it, you’ve seen the movie more than once in the theaters… I saw it 5 times.

From Leonardo DiCaprio and NOT Martin Scorsese comes the movie that will go down in history as the movie that got Leo his Oscar, even if it’s mostly pure Oscar-bait. While the views get tallied from last week’s Batman V Superman Honest Trailer battle, the gang at Screen Junkies give the HT treatment to one of 2015’s best reviewed films, The Revenant.
