Season 3 of Sherlock debuted on BBC One in the UK today, but those of us in the U.S. have to wait for the first episode, titled “The Empty Hearse,” to air on January 19, 2014 on PBS Masterpiece.

While we wait, the BBC has released a little something to tide us over: a 7-minute prequel mini-episode called “Many Happy Returns,” which you can watch here below.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), who was presumed dead at the end of Season 2, and the reaction of his friend Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) to his resurrection.
