| ‘Firefly’ Cast Talks Netflix Not Picking Them Up Yet, Scene We Never Got To See |

Netflix has been known to bring a deceased TV show back from the dead a time or two over the years. Because of this geeks everywhere, myself very much included, have wondered why they haven’t resurrected one of the most obvious dead series: the criminally canceled Firefly, which wasn’t given long enough to find its audience in a time well before DVRs and on demand and mobile viewing, when the TV viewer numbers were all that mattered. Netflix has touched on why it’s not a show they feel (or felt, a few years back anyway) is right for them, but nothing more has been said of it. Some of Firefly‘s actual cast members wonder the very same things we fans do about the show, as well. A mini cast reunion with Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, and Summer Glau went down recently at which they discussed Netflix, a scene we never got to see, and more. See what they had to say below.

| SDCC 2015: First Trailer For ‘Firefly’-Inspired ‘Con Man’ From Alan Tudyk, Nathan Fillion |
 |

We may never see Firefly live and breathe again (unless someone finally wakes up and finds a way to makes it happen for us), but while die hard fans of the series continue to hopelessly wait for that day to arrive something else inspired by Joss Whedon‘s show has been born. Back in March we found out about Con Man, a web series from Firefly co-stars Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion. Mirroring their previous gig working together, the web series follows actors from a canceled (far too soon) science fiction TV show. The actor who playued the captain on the show (Fillion) goes on to become a big movie star, while the actor who played the pilot (Tudyk) finds himself traveling around making appearances and sci-fi conventions. A trailer for Con Man was shared during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con—the first web series to have a Hall H panel—and now the trailer is available to enjoy online. You can see it below along with a poster and full synopsis that includes the cast of very familiar names you’ll see in the series.

| A Robot Follows His Calling In Web Series ‘Jeff 1000’
Hollywood has found its new leading man in the form of Jeff — an automotive assembly device turned 10-foot-tall robot. Jeff 1000 is a web-series from WIRED that focuses on a giant, insecure robot actor who is also best friends with Summer Glau. Only three short episodes have aired so far, but the normalcy of the titular character and his chemistry with Glau — yes, I did say chemistry — make Jeff 100 quite the quirky series. You can check out the web series below.

| Entertainment One Grabs Distribution Rights For ‘Knights Of Badassdom’
Exactly two years ago today we shared with you a recap of the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con panel for Knights of Badassdom, a new indie comedy starring HBO trio Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), and Steve Zahn (Treme), as well as Firefly actress Summer Glau. The movie looked like an ultra-geeky good time (see the trailer below if you haven’t yet), promising an R-rated horror-comedy worth being excited about. Then things went to hell. Disagreements between director Joe Lynch and producers led to massive cuts and re-edits, and for a time it was unclear if we’d ever see any cut of the movie. Now comes new hope that we will still see Knights of Badassdom after all. It’s being reported that Entertainment One has acquired the North America distribution rights.

| SDCC 2012: ‘Firefly’ Special ‘Browncoats Unite’ To Air On Science Channel This November
Just recently we found out that the cast of Joss Whedon‘s cult classic series, Firefly, would be reuniting at San Diego Comic-Con in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the show. It will be the first time the show has ever had a panel at Comic-Con, though if it had the popularity it has now back when it first arrived, surely this would be one of many memorable panels. Ah, yes…life may be too damn short for ifs and maybes, but they fit perfectly into dreams. But alas, some good news is to be had! It’s being reported that a brand spankin’ new Firefly TV special titled Browncoats Unite is set to air November 11th on Science Channel.
