| Warner Bros. Sets Release Date For Tom Tykwer and Wachowski Siblings’ ‘Cloud Atlas’
When Tom Tykwer and Andy & Lana Wachowski completed the principal photography for the adaptation of David Mitchell‘s Cloud Atlas in late December, it had no distributor. But that’s why we have film festivals like the one being held at Cannes. According to Thompson on Hollywood, Warner Bros. has picked up the distribution rights for Cloud Atlas for $20 million, and will release the movie on December 6th, which is the perfect time to release a movie if you are aiming for some awards. But what makes Cloud Atlas so ambitious is that it will have multiple stories taking place in multiple generations with multiple characters involved. The film stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, and Bae Doona, all of whom will be playing these multiple characters in these stories that span generations.

It was great when it all began
I was a regular Frankie fan Now Frankie fans can rejoice, because The Rocky Horror Picture Show is out on Blu-ray and there’s loads of features that will make you feel like you’re back in the theater, shouting along to the 1975 cult classic. From the beginning, fans of the horror rock musical would flock to midnight showings dressed as the characters and act out scenes along with what was playing on the screen. There was also extensive ad-libbing, as well as the 4D-type experience: throwing rice during the wedding sequence; holding up a newspaper during rain scene. It’s these little touches that have been passed along for over three decades that make the film so special. So, you might ask, why buy the Blu-ray when the real experience is seeing it in the theater amongst with other fans? Aside from the obvious issue of there possibly not being a screening near you, along with seeing it in high definition, there’s also the fact that the movie holds up all on its own. It’s got great rock and roll tunes, a wacky scifi/horror element, and of course, that flamboyant, yet sweet transvestite Frank-N-Furter, played marvelously by Tim Curry.

| Your Dreams Will Come True: ‘Enchanted 2’ Is Heading Our Way!
In 2007, Disney found themselves with a new mega-hit that was called Enchanted. The movie took that classic Disney hand-drawn cartoon vibe, and brought it to a live-action modern day New York City. The movie went on to make $340 million worldwide, so fans will be thrilled to know that the studio is going full-steam ahead on a sequel, Enchanted 2. Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Susan Sarandon starred in the original, but none are currently confirmed to be returning or not. You can be sure, however, that Disney will be going after them all aggressively. Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld are returning as producers on the sequel, but aside from that, the crew will be all new. Jessie Nelson has been brought in to write the screenplay, and Anne Fletcher will be directing this time around.

| Oliver Stone’s ‘Wall Street 2’ Picks Up Susan Sarandon
Another big name actor in Susan Sarandon has been added to the growing impressive cast of Oliver Stone‘s sequel Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. The movie is a follow-up to 1987’s Wall Street, which followed a young stock trader who becomes snagged in the dirty (and highly-profitable) underbelly of the trading world when big timer Gordon Gecko (Michael Douglas) takes him under his paper wings. In the sequel, Douglas returns as Gecko, who is just being released after a long prison sentence. In order to reconnect with his daughter, Winnie (Carey Mulligan), he helps out her fiance (Shia LaBeouf), who is fittingly a new talent in the world of stock trading.
