| Free Downloadable Happy New Year ‘Doctor Who’ Cards Every day this month, the BBC has posted new items on their Doctor Who site in their Adventure Calendar. Each day, new Doctor Who-related images, games, videos, ebooks, wallpapers, and more are added to the Calendar — all very cool stuff.
The item of the day today is free downloadable Happy New Year cards — three to choose from (you can download them all) — that you can print out and give to others. Of the three, my favorite is the TARDIS in what appears like a Starry Night-type setting that apparently is supposed to look like “the image of a crack in time and space that could destroy the universe.”

Where are all these awesome geek parents and uncles and aunts coming from? Honestly, I never had anyone make something this cool for me: a TARDIS bookcase cupboard. Seriously, how amazing is this concept?
Over at Instructables, user caitlinsdad has put up step-by-step documentation on how he made this incredible TARDIS bookcase, based on the time machine used by everyone’s favorite time lord in Doctor Who. It is a Christmas gift he is preparing for his nephews, so the article is an ongoing development, but you can see the final product over there. Caitlinsdad made the basis of the TARDIS bookcase from a cheap $20 bookcase, which is pretty amazing. I mean, my carpentry skills are on par with Homer Simpson — when I look at a bookshelf in a store, my first thought is, “Crap, will I have to assemble this?” Clearly, caitlinsdad, and many of the other fine folks over at Instructables, look at these items and immediately see artistic goals.

When it comes to gingerbread, the only thing I excel at is in eating it. But there are people out there who are incredibly artistic with gingerbread houses and other concepts, and this Gingerbread TARDIS is of no exception.
Based on the time machine used by the Last of the Time Lords in Doctor Who, LiveJournal user therru has created a masterpiece just in time for the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Actually, therru made this Gingerbread TARDIS last Christmas, but decided to share with everyone how to make their own for this Christmas! The final result is fabulous, and looks amazing. If Tom Baker saw this, he would think it to be “indomitable” and that the only thing missing would be jelly babies. Be sure to click over to therru’s LiveJournal page for the full step-by-step procedure on how to make your own Gingerbread TARDIS – Fantastic!
