Doctor Who fans in the UK have an exciting treat heading their way, in the form of The Doctor Who Experience, a huge exhibition set at London’s Olympia 2. The event is said to be an interactive journey through the history of Doctor Who, both as a look at the evolution of the television show since 1963, and also an in-universe look at the history of the Doctor and his TARDIS.
But it’s the interactive part of the experience that sounds intriguing. Basically, for about 90 minutes of the exhibition, you are one of the Doctor’s companions following a scripted adventure that also features the visual effects and the creatures, and you even get to go inside the TARDIS. Matt Smith, the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor, has filmed special scenes for this part of the Doctor Who Experience. On the exhibition side of things, all of the original Doctor costumes will be on display, Tom Baker‘s TARDIS police box will be there, and there will be two additional TARDIS interior sets from the eras of Peter Davison (the fifth Doctor) and David Tennant (the tenth doctor). Essentially, this side of the exhibition is a look at the history of Doctor Who since 1963.

| Geek Find: ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas TARDIS Wrapping Paper Last month, we spotlighted some very cool Doctor Who Wrapping Paper made by Merrypranxter’s, aka designer Lauren Castor, sold through her Etsy shop.
Lauren tells us that thanks to our coverage of her geeky creations (as we were the first mainstream site to feature her shop and got the ball rolling), she’s gotten in enough orders that she was able to lower her prices! So, if you had your eye on getting buying some of this wrapping paper, for the uber-geek in your life, now’s the time! Also, she’s added a few more Christmas-themed geeky designs to her selections, including the Christmas TARDIS and Klingon Christmas. These styles are among several other Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who-themed wrapping paper and holiday cards (as well as many of her original designs). See here at right a sample of the Doctor Who Christmas TARDIS design (which I think is my favorite!!!).

| Introducing The TARDIS Bed: Just What The Doctor Ordered |

It may look like a single bed, but I’ve been assured it’s bigger on the inside. Imagine having your own bed, just like this one, based on the TARDIS. Doctor Who fans, here’s your chance, because this unique TARDIS Murphy Bed is currently up for auction over at TradeMe.co.nz, a bidding site based in New Zealand.
This bed was built by an exceptionally talented New Zealand fan, who assembled this TARDIS bed for his son. While it looks cool, there’s some hidden features here that are just awesome. The police light on top of the TARDIS works, and also doubles as a star projector, which projects the mighty Southern Cross onto the ceiling. The telephone doesn’t work, but it does have a secret button that you can press to play the sound effects of the TARDIS. On top of that, there’s also a series of LED lights, with different settings for a variety of pulse patterns.

| DVD Review: Doctor Who: The Complete Fifth Series Doctor Who: The Complete Fifth Series
Blu-ray | DVD | Digital Download
(2010)
Starring Matt Smith, Karen Gilian, Arthur Darvill
BBC Warner
Release Date: November 9, 2010
The fifth series of the BBC television show Doctor Who is a refreshing take on the now classic time-traveling adventures of The Doctor and his companions. New show runner Steven Moffat successfully reinvigorates the spirit of every iteration that came before while not alienating newer viewers. Moffat does this by including many subtle visual references to the past Whovian story continuity, the first of which is featured at the end of the series opener The Eleventh Hour in the form of an homage to the ten previous incarnations of The Doctor. For children, casual, and new viewers the story opens with a young Amelia Pond who discovers a crashed TARDIS in her garden and a strange man willing to inspect the eerie crack on her bedroom wall.

| Geek Gear: ‘Doctor Who’ Who’s Who T-Shirt The $9 t-shirt deal of the day over at Teefury today is the Doctor Who-inspired “Who’s Who” by artist Ian Leino.
The sale at Teefury began at midnight EST (Sunday, November 22, 2010) and will continue for 24 hours, and once it’s over, it’s gone forever. There’s been a surge of cool Doctor Who t-shirts lately, and this newest offering is one long-time Who fans will really dig. It’s a light blue shirt with a cartoon drawing on it of the famous time-traveling TARDIS. Spilling out of the TARDIS is the 11 incarnations of the regenerating Doctor. While some Doctors aren’t very well represented (I’m pretty sure for one of them you only see his butt), those popular actors like Tom Baker, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and current Doctor, Matt Smith, are all easily recognizable.
