| WonderCon 2011: All Eyes On Future Superman Henry Cavill At ‘Immortals’ Panel
Attention was focused on Henry Cavill during the Immortals panel today at WonderCon 2011 as it’s the actor’s first major public appearance since being cast as the Man of Steel in the new Superman movie directed by Zack Snyder.
“The new suit is still in development, so I haven’t tried it on,” Cavill said in response to the first fan question about what he feels like after putting on the Superman costume. He also talked about the training he went through to get in shape for Immortals, which no doubt made him an even more perfect candidate for Superman. “Lots of cardiovascular, lots of mixed martial arts, and eating very little.” The trailer Tarsem Singh‘s Immortals was debuted. Cavil stars in the film as Theseus, who’s chosen by Zeus to protect the homelands from the threat of the titans and save the gods.

| Geek Peek: First Images From Tarsem Singh’s ‘Immortals’
We’ve covered all of the Greek mythology epics that have been in the process of being made over the past couple of years quite a bit. Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans came and went — to some pretty heavy negativity, no less — and now we wait patiently for Tarsem Singh‘s Immortals, which if you hadn’t heard, was formerly known as War of Gods. The first set of images from Immortals have found their way to the internet by way of Rogue Pictures, and they’re good enough to make the November 11, 2011 release date sound just a little too far away. Click on over to see the images.

| ‘War Of Gods’ Becomes ‘Immortals’; Adds John Hurt & Isabel Lucas
It was a little strange when we were informed that two movies based on Greek mythology were coming — one an adaptation of popular video game God of War; the other being Tarsem Singh‘s War of Gods — with such similar titles. Though the Brett Ratner-directed God of War has since been put to sleep for now, it looks as if they don’t want to take the risk on title confusions among movie-goers. In a press release put out by Relativity Media, it was announced that War of Gods will now officially be called Immortals. The new title doesn’t sound quite as epic (more like a Highlander sequel), but is effective enough for what they need it to be. Another possible title was Dawn of War.

| ‘Slumdog’ Beauty Freida Pinto Cast In Tarsem Singh’s ‘War Of Gods’
It was November of 2008 when we started learning of castings for some of the many Greek mythology projects that were being developed. Two of these projects were Brett Ratner’s adaptation of popular video game God of War; the other was director Tarsem Singh‘s War of Gods (which is also apparently called Dawn of War, too). Since that time, the Ratner God of War project crumbled and died, and we haven’t really heard much from War of Gods until today; it’s being reported that Freida Pinto has been cast as the female lead in the movie. Pinto recently burst onto the scene as Latika, the inspirational love interest in Best Picture-winning Danny Boyle film, Slumdog Millionaire. The actress joins Henry Cavill (The Tudors), who has long been attached to the lead role of Theseus.
