Sony has released a new poster for their upcoming Terminator Salvation.

The cool thing about this poster is that it is kind of a mini teaser trailer within the poster, which is admittedly a very cool thing if you ask me.

Screw holographic “moving” posters — give me one of these I can hang on my wall and I’ll love you forever.

Terminator Salvation hits theaters on May 22, 2009.

On his production blog, director McG announced that Terminator Salvation has indeed wrapped principal photography and that it’s now well into its post-production work.

This is always a good sign that things are moving forward smoothly, you know, well-oiled machine and such. Now we just need to hope that not too many re-shoots have to be done; specifically for the ending.

McG said that a cut of the film was shown to stars Christian Bale and Sam Worthington who both seem to have liked where it was going.

While McG wants this particular installment to focus much more on characters and the storyline, he hasn’t forgotten what the previous films did for the world of special effects.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenneger was treated to some early footage of the much-talked about Terminator Salvation recently and the LA Times was able to talk to him about various things, including what he thought about the footage he saw.

Some people seemed to think that what Schwarzenegger was saying about the film was negative and that he might have been a little upset about the filmmakers not coming to him about a possible cameo. A while back, the California governor, who starred in the original three Terminator movies, said that he would be willing to do a cameo if it was shot in LA. Even more recently there were reports that a young clone of Schwarzenegger would be doing the part in the movie, which seemed to show that there was no room for Arnie; however, I don’t see any jealousy or negativity in Schwarzenegger’s remarks about his sneak peek at Terminator Salvation.

Back in June, it was reported that Helena Bonham Carter was in talks to join Terminator Salvation, but there’s been no word since about what role the Sweeney Todd actress would play in the upcoming prequel.

Carter had previously said that her role would be “small, but pivotal.”

While her character has still yet to be revealed, Carter confirmed to SCI FI that she will be a villain in the upcoming fourth Terminator film.
