| ‘Kick-Ass’ Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson Confirmed As Quicksilver In ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’
We heard back in June that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, star of Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2, and the upcoming Godzilla reboot, was wanted by Marvel for the role of Quicksilver in Joss Whedon‘s follow-up to The Avengers, titled The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and now that casting has been confirmed. Taylor-Johnson’s schedule promoting Godzilla overlapped with filming on the Age of Ultron, which is why the casting had not yet been made official. Those scheduling conflicts have now been worked out, allowing the actor to take on the role.

| SDCC 2013: Joss Whedon Reveals ‘Avengers’ Sequel Title ‘Age Of Ultron’The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday was, as expected, full of surprises and treats for the fans in Hall H. Along with the planned panel for Thor: The Lost World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (both of which showed off new footage), there was also an appearance of the cast for Guardians Of The Galaxy and the very first footage of the upcoming movie. But, at the very end of Marvel’s panel, as the stage emptied, director Joss Whedon, who’s currently working on the sequel to The Avengers, came out and said that although he had nothing to say, he did have something to add. Cue the screams of tired but eager fans as the lights went down and the screens lit up to show a teaser video for The Avengers 2, the end of which gave a massive reveal.

Two weeks ago news broke that Vin Diesel of Pitch Black and the Fast and the Furious franchises was meeting with Marvel Studios about a possible mystery role in one of their forthcoming movies. | Joss Whedon Confirms Loki Won’t Appear In ‘The Avengers 2’As much of a menace as he is to all the nine worlds of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it appears that there is one thing that can stop Loki dead in his tracks: a script. Now this doesn’t mean that Tom Hiddleston had a falling out with Marvel, Disney, or Joss Whedon, it just means that he won’t be in The Avengers 2. This is definitely a disappointment to anyone who is a fan of the actor or the character who loves to hear line like “Mewling quim” or “An ant has no quarrel with a boot.” While a disappointment, it isn’t entirely unexpected. To have him as the villain, even in a smaller capacity, would be somewhat boring. Also that little teaser at the end of the first Avengers confirmed that Thanos is a greater threat than Loki and was the one pulling the strings, so why subject the audience to another appearance made by Loki, when you can have someone as powerful as Thanos.
