The marketing team is slowly revealing more of Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Last weekend, Jackson released a prolific poster of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. The character was in a very familiar pose, perhaps homage to the posters for Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Now we got a brand new poster that squeezes in all the dwarves – a plate full of pastries – into a standard-sized poster.

The newest poster for the first Hobbit installment features all the dwarves you will see in the film. As you can see, each dwarf has a unique identifiable characteristic that separates them from the others.

Toys and other merchandising or marketing items being made for a big upcoming movie are a good way to catch your first glimpse of what a certain character will look like or how an actor will look playing a character.

We’ve already had one early geek peek when it comes to Peter Jackson‘s massive three-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit—that first shot of what’s assumed to be the evil Goblin King—and now comes another noteworthy first look.

An image has made its way to the web of LOST star Evangeline Lilly as the elven warrior Tauriel. It’s not the best first peek you’ll get, but, as we all very much expected, you can see that Lilly makes a mighty fine elf. Check out the image below.

There’s been a lot of happenings this week in celebration of Tolkien week, with the release of the full trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first installment in Peter Jackson’s planned big-screen Hobbit trilogy, along with its four alternate endings, as well as character photos from the upcoming film.

Tomorrow is another big day in the Tolkien universe, as it’s the birthday of both Bilbo Baggins – who you might recall celebrated his 111th birthday during the events of The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Rings – and his nephew Frodo Baggins. Therefore, September 22nd has been dubbed Hobbit Day. And what better way to celebrate Hobbit Day than with a Hobbit Day party, precious?

Earlier today we posted the exciting second trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. However, there were four alternate endings for that trailer that were posted to the film’s official website. Now Bleeding Cool has pulled those endings and posting it in one video, which you can watch here below.

These aren’t really trailer friendly per se, they are more like very short clips. These clips include Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) conversing with Gollum (Andy Serkis); a gathering of the dwarves at Rivendell; Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) handing a contract to Bilbo, and Gandalf receiving winnings from a bet he made with the dwarves.

Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, part one of Bilbo’s journey towards Middle Earth. While there are still those who are hesitant about the decision to change The Hobbit from a two-part film to a trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey looks like it will have plenty of action, adventure, and comedy.

While the previously released teaser trailer established who the characters are, this new trailer focuses on the plot of the film. The dwarves are set out to reclaim the land that is rightfully theirs, and Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) believes that they can accomplish that if they bring the hobbit Bilbo Baggins along on this adventure.
