The Incredibles Header

A lot of effort is put into perfecting a Pixar project. From the search to the story to the animation, it takes approximately four years for the studio to complete work on one title. Perhaps that is why they are recognized for being one of the top animation studios in the world. But as much as they thrive on their original storytelling, they’ve done well for themselves making sequels. Finding Dory proved that a Pixar sequel is sometimes well worth the wait, and somehow, we keep getting sequels for Cars.

So when it was announced that there would be a Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2, Pixar fans got excited. Now comes word that they will be switching release dates. More on their switch and which films they will be competing against below.

A new Fantastic Four movie was just released from Fox. This… is not about that movie. This is about the way we fans talk about Fantastic Four movies, and how we may, in fact, be getting it wrong.

I’ve seen it happen enough to be a foregone conclusion: when discussing Marvel comics on film, if you bring up the Fantastic Four, somebody will return volley with, “If you want to see a perfect Fantastic Four movie, go watch The Incredibles.” I’ve done it myself — MANY times — and that particular refrain got louder and more frequent the closer we got to the release of the latest Fox effort. But, hearing some variation of that statement repeated so often kinda got me wondering… are we actually right about that?

The Incredibles 2 Image Header

Brad Bird is busy putting the final touches on Tomorrowland, and soon will have to do the press tour to help promote the film. But as soon as he is done with that, he will go to work on The Incredibles 2. The sequel was actually confirmed a year ago when Bob Iger made the announcement during an annual stockholder’s meeting. Of all the sequels and prequels in the Pixar library, fans are most excited for another Incredibles adventure.

However, with Bird busy working on Tomorrowland at the time the sequel was first announced, work on The Incredibles 2 wasn’t even close to starting, which tells us that the film won’t hit theaters for a while. Hit the jump to see where Bird is at with the script for the sequel.

Ten years have passed since the release of the DisneyӢPixar favorite The Incredibles, and fans have clamored for a second entry in the superhero brand. Finally, and quite surprisingly, Disney CEO Bob Iger casually announced at the Disney 2014 Board of Shareholders meeting that a sequel is indeed in the works.

Little is known about The Incredibles 2 this early in the game, so what should we expect? More importantly, what do we want?

The Wolf Of Wall Street Header

Everyone enjoys a good mashup, and today brings a pair of very interesting ones for you to take a peek at while news is slow.

Both of the mashups involve the trailer for the latest Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio film, The Wolf of Wall Street. The first mashes the audio and music of the Wolf trailer with clips from Pixar’s The Incredibles. The second uses audio from the Disney not-so-classic 1994 flick Blank Check, and mashes it with the music and style of the Wolf trailer.

You can check out both videos below.
