Volkswagen Star Wars commercial

One of the most talked-about Super Bowl commercials last night was the one for Volkswagen called “The Force” which showed a small child dressed as Star Wars villain Darth Vader, attempting to use The Force to move objects around the house.

The commercial got everyone buzzing, wondering, who is the child behind the mask. The actor appeared on this morning’s Today Show, lifting the mask to reveal an adorable 6-year-old blond boy named Max Page.

Watch the video of little Max on The Today Show here below, and learn about the struggles he’s had to endure so far in his short life. There’s no doubt we’ll be routing for him!

Homeless Man With “Golden Voice” Finds Happy Ending After Incredible Offers

Earlier today, we shared with you the story that’s been sweeping the country about a homeless man with one of the best radio voices you’ll ever hear, a happy ending has already presented itself.

While doing a lengthy radio interview with WNCI 97.9 in Columbus, Ohio, Ted Williams — now clean-cut and looking in much higher spirits — talked about becoming an overnight sensation and how all he was really humbly looking for was a second chance. The radio DJs that brought him in, Dave & Jimmy, were so inspired by his story that they wanted to get him on the air, and see if they could get any job or work opportunities to come through for Ted. What happened after that was nothing short of amazing.

In the first part, the station fielded some calls from people who had been moved by the story. The first was associated with MTV and wanted to fly Williams out to LA for some work as a guest announcer on one of their shows. Next up came a pair of people who turned out to be two of the top voice over talents working today — even going so far as to show off their talents as the guy we hear on CBS promos and the woman we hear during the Academy Awards telecast — who wanted to offer Williams the chance to compete in a competition to find the next big voice.

You can watch the video of that interview by clicking RIGHT HERE, and you can keep reading for an even more amazing offer and to see Ted Williams on The Early Show.

Ewok

We’ve all seen it before, whether it be on purpose or while flipping thorough channels: a daytime TV show has a holiday special where they present fun and helpful tips on decorative ideas, crafty party/hosting tricks, and unique food and snack recipes.

The Today Show held one of these special shows recently (which you can see much more of in our recent post) for Halloween, and they went all out, complete with a full Star Wars theme. Hosts Al Roker and Ann Curry dressed up as Han Solo and Darth Vader, and they even brought in a couple of little Ewoks to set the perfect mood! Unfortunately, this backfired on them a little; it didn’t take long before the Ewoks took over the show. It starts off light with a little playful talking, food throwing, and stealing the Halloween cocktails, but the more reactions they got, the more they feed off of it, and that prompts them to start dancing and moonwalking, fighting each other, and humping Mr. Roker’s leg. Yes, you read that right: an Ewok humps Al Roker’s leg.

Click on over to watch it for yourself. You won’t regret it.

On The Today Show this morning, New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza outside of NBC Studios was transformed into a Star Wars spectacular for the show’s annual “Halloween on the Plaza” holiday broadcast.

The cast of the morning show donned costumes from the Star Wars saga with Kathie Lee Gifford as C-3PO, Natalie Morales as Queen Padme Amidala, Hoda Kotb as Yoda, Ann Curry as Darth Vader, Meredith Vieira as Princess Leia, Matt Lauer as Luke Skywalker, and Al Roker as Han Solo. Star Wars creator George Lucas and his people at Lucasfilm provided real props from the films, including an X-Wing fighter and the Emperor’s chair.

We also found out that Friend of Doom Lou Platania, a member of the 501st Legion, was one of the Stormtroopers on the elaborate Today Show set and that he was the trooper next to the X-Wing in the first video embedded here below. (Go Lou!)

Check out more video from the show here below, including a behind-the-scenes look at the planning and prepping for this special Star Wars-themed episode.
