Gorgeous Vortex Todd Lincoln V/H/S

V/H/S: Viral, the third entry in the found-footage anthology horror series, is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and VHS. The release comes with a bunch of bonus features, including Gorgeous Vortex, the “lost” segment directed by Todd Lincoln (The Apparition).

I had an opportunity to sit down with Lincoln and talk about the V/H/S: Viral Blu-ray release and why his experimental horror short wasn’t included with the film’s initial release.

Epic Films Group has released the first trailer for the trilogy-maker in the V/H/S found footage series, which is more officially titled V/H/S: Viral.

Just like the two movies that came before it, this latest entry is an anthology offering multiple short found footage horror flicks to enjoy. And as you’ll see, it looks every bit as ooey gooey gory as fans have come to expect of the franchise.

Danger GirlA big-screen adaptation of the Wildstorm comic book series Danger Girl is in the works with Todd Lincoln directing, according to a Hero Complex interview with its producer Adrian Askarieh.

Askarieh, who’s currently producing Relativity’s film adaptation of Devil’s Due Publishing’s Hack/Slash, described the planned Danger Girl movie as “Kill Bill meets Raiders of the Lost Ark with the “team” element of Mission: Impossible.”

The Danger Girl comic book series debuted in 1998 from creators J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell, and has Campbell’s now distinctive buxom hot babe artwork. The series follows Abbey Chase, a treasure-hunting demolitions expert who joins the top-secret Danger Girl organization in their action adventures. All the ladies are well-endowed and gorgeous, typically wearing tight, revealing clothing, but the difference between these babes and those on Baywatch is that the Danger Girls are highly skilled and intelligent, not to mention lethal.

Hack/Slash

Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Stephen Susco (The Grudge) has been hired to write the script for Hack/Slash, the upcoming movie based on the Tim Seeley comic book. Back in April of 2008, the project had Justin Marks writing the script that was to be directed by Todd Lincoln. Lincoln was also replaced back in July when Fredrik Bond was brought in to helm the movie (Read: “˜Hack/Slash’ Gets A New Director In Fredrik Bond)

Hack/Slash follows Cassie Hack, a girl who never had it easy growing up. When her evil Lunch Lady mother — who was murdered after it was discovered that she had been killing children and processing them into the food — comes back from the dead and resumes her murderous habits, Cassie takes her own mother out. After that, she begins her life as a slayer of Slashers, the vicious living and dead beings who walk the Earth, slaughtering all who cross their paths. She is joined by a giant named Vlad who acts as her bodyguard and strength.

Hack/Slash

Hack/Slash is a comic book movie adaptation from Relativity Media that’s been on the way for a couple of years now. It was originally set up to be directed by Todd Lincoln but, as with most properties that sit around for an extended period of time, the movie now has a new director: Fredrik Bond. The new director is another in a line of newcomers who are best known for their TV and music video work. Bond must be impressing people with his non-cinematic works, as he’s also been tapped to helm the remake of popular foreign monster movie The Host, and a remake of The Hunger for Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Productions.

Hack/Slash is a comic that follows Cassie Hack, a victim of a monster attack. After she survives the attack, she vows vengeance on monsters everywhere and sets off to put them down one-by-one — including some rather well-known horror movie monsters! Of course, she’s not alone: a giant, disfigured man named Vlad who dons a gas mask and wields two meat cleavers stands by her side on this quest.
