| Director Michael Dougherty Offers ‘Trick ‘r Treat 2’ Update
It’s Halloween night, which means many of us are watching the perfect Halloween night movie: Trick ‘r Treat. It’s been six years now, unbelievably, since Legendary Pictures thrilled fans with the announcement that Trick ‘r Treat 2 was on the way. But alas, it would seem that the announcement was more of a cruel trick than the wonderfully sweet treat it appeared to be at the time. Still, Michael Dougherty—who made his feature directorial debut on the 2007 original, and has since gone on to helm Krampus and Godzilla: King of the Monsters—is asked about the sequel every year around this time, and this year was no different. The 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill finally making its way to Blu-ray this fall wasn’t the only exciting recent announcement Scream Factory had in store for fans anxiously awaiting fall’s arrival this year. The perfect Halloween movie, Trick ‘r Treat, is returning as an attraction at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. Once it was finally released in 2009, the movie immediately became a must-watch every Halloween season for many. It was part of last year’s Halloween Horror Nights as a scare zone, and returns this year as an all-new experience. | ‘Trick ‘r Treat’: From Script To Screen and Kill Count Videos
Halloween favorite Trick ‘r Treat from Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Godzilla 2) has become required viewing for many on this night. And so before you watch it this year (or perhaps after—especially if you’re watching for the first time), why not enjoy some videos related to the movie? Legendary Pictures has released a “From Script to Screen” video which looks at one of the scenes in the movie compared to what was written in the screenplay. The second video is one of YouTube channel Dead Meat’s “Kill Count” episodes, which shows you all of the deaths that happen in the movie. | First Poster For Michael Dougherty’s Holiday Horror ‘Krampus’ Debuts
From the man who co-wrote two of the X-Men movies and wrote the classic Halloween horror anthology feature Trick ‘r Treat, Michael Dougherty‘s Christmas-themed fright flick Krampus now has an official poster that was unveiled over the weekend at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. You can check it out here below. A co-production of Legendary Pictures and their new studio backer Universal Pictures, Krampus stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, Allison Tolman, David Koechner, and Conchata Ferrell in a tale about Santa Claus’ terrifying opposite in Alpine folklore, a monstrous demon who punishes the wicked children at Christmastime. Dougherty directed and also co-wrote the screenplay with Todd Casey (Green Lantern: Emerald Knights) and Zach Shields.
