In Ghostbusters #10, the boys go visit the Big Easy!!! No, they don’t go to Snooki’s house. I’m talking about New Orleans, Louisiana. Can they catch the spirit about to plague the city? And more importantly, can they get out before doing more damage to the city than the ghost will do? This issue’s writer, Erik Burnham, drags the boys in gray down to Louisiana to help a town that… really DOES NOT want them there. It’s nice to see a change of pace in this series, since in previous issues the Ghostbusters have been adored by the people of New York City and rightfully so, they’ve saved their bacon more times that anyone can count. But, here in New Orleans, spirituality is a BIG part of the local flavor and the home town crowd does NOT want that changing.

ROAD TRIP!!! In Ghostbusters #9 the boys in gray leave the comfy confines of New York City and venture out into the rest of the USA as the PKE goes off the charts!!! Yes, folks, it’s up to our favorite paranormal eliminators to save the country! First off, writer Erik Burnham has created a GREAT starting point for people to jump on this book. And if you haven’t been reading it before, shame on you, you’re missing out on a lot of fun. The Ghostbusters first stop on their country-wide trek finds them in Detroit, Michigan, as the city has a little problem with a sizable army of ghosts. Writing wise, there’s nothing here that hasn’t been done to perfection in the 8 previous issues. Witty dialogue, fun story, plenty of ghostbusting, and action. And, a little bit of underlying plot thrown in for good measure. This is going to be one fun story arc! Grab this book and add it to your pull list — you’re not gonna want to miss these issues!

Ya know what? I’m gonna start with the END of Ghostbusters #7 for this review. The reason being is that I keep forgetting to give my second favorite Australian, Tristan Jones (sorry, T. Paul Hogan is THE MAN), his due. Dare I say, this comic would NOT be as awesome as it is without him. Just page through his supplemental PCOC (Paranormal Contracts Oversight Commission) pages and look at the sheer amount of work that goes into them. Not only are they entertaining, but whatever you want to know about the technical aspects of the Ghostbusters, it’s there, thanks to Tristan. Well done, sir.

It’s been half a year since IDW Publishing unleashed the ongoing Ghostbusters title, and if Ghostbusters #6 is any indication, this book is going to be around for a long time. Writer Erik Burnham scares me. Not like the killer Bob in Twin Peaks scares me, but like really smart people scare me. His writing in this book is first and foremost, funny and entertaining, but it’s also CRAZY detailed. I’m guessing Burnham spends lots of weekends at his local libraries going over books on ghosts, urban legends, and other scary things, because seriously, this guy knows his stuff.

I swear to God, it’s like we get a new, awesome Ghostbusters movie every month! And Ghostbusters #4 is no exception. This month the boys in gray are up against the third minion of Gozer, and there’s only one person that can save the day! I’m calling Erik Burnham out right now! I don’t understand how he can turn out such a high caliber book every month and not be writing more comics. I’m guessing that Burnham puked in the punch bowl at a Marvel/DC Christmas party at some point, thereby banishing his awesomeness from either of those companies. But, back to this issue…
