Most of the time, these Kickstarter Spotlights are pretty straightforward. Someone wants to bring their project to light through crowdfunding by offering rewards and incentives. But every once in a while one of them is about more than a movie or a comic (or whatever they are doing). Toe Tag Riot is one of these that seeks to be a bit more than what it appears at face value. Not content with merely being a comic book, it seeks to make a point by changing up perspectives and vilifying those who seek to do an injustice to others. On Friday night, the Foo Fighters played a show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and on hand to show their own special brand of support were members of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, who brought out their trusty signs and hate-filled chants to express their umbrage at any person, group, or organization that doesn’t share their black-hearted hostility towards homosexuals. In their own puckish manner, the Foos decided to show their appreciation for the Westboro group’s venom by putting on a special concert just for them.
