WonderCon 2013: Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Panel

Joss Whedon‘s cinematic adaptation of the classic William Shakespeare tome Much Ado About Nothing kicked off the Sunday edition of the 2013 WonderCon in Anaheim, CA today in the arena at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The film, which is in black and white and is about a far as you can get from Whedon’s past projects, which include last year’s gold plated smash success The Avengers, (written and directed by the famed wordsmith Whedon) is set for a national release soon to theaters, coming off of a slow climb since late last year when it was showcased at various film festivals. Early word of mouth and reviews have been generally positive, and it’s definitely a nice departure of sorts for Whedon to take on a project in Much Ado About Nothing that has nothing do with costumes, special effects and classic stereotypical action/comic book film eye candy, instead focusing on having skilled actors spout complex dialogue and narrative.

WonderCon 2013: Cosplay and Convention Floor Photo Round-Up
As is its annual wont, there was another stellar appearance of many rabid fans of the sci-fi comic book fantasy genres as they got their personal game on with cosplay at the WonderCon 2013 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA this weekend. There was a high display of originality this year as costumes ranged from charmingly homemade to dazzling professional, highly reminiscent of the original articles.

WonderCon 2012: Cosplay Photo Parade: Sunday Edition
Yesterday, we posted cosplay photos from WonderCon 2012 at the Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday, along from photos from cool stuff being shown off at the booths in the exhibition hall.

DC Comics To Offer Exclusive Batman & Superman Prints At WonderCon
DC Comics and Graphitti Designs announced today that the two are offering up some exclusives DC art prints for sale to attendees at this weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, CA.
The three available prints feature stylish renditions of the worlds of two of the publishing company’s most iconic characters: Superman and Batman.
The first print is done in an almost blueprint/schematic style that showcases several different Batmobiles, with the phrase “Choose Your Ride” at the bottom and would be an excellent gift for your favorite Geeks of Doom writer who also happens to have a birthday coming up the weekend after this convention.

Get The First Volume Of ‘The Walking Dead’ At WonderCon For Free
Comixology announced on Monday that, in conjunction with Skybound Entertainment, the online comics retailer will be offering a free digital download for The Walking Dead: Days Gone By to WonderCon attendees.
You’re going to be hard pressed these days to find many people attending a comic book convention that haven’t yet read the first collected edition of The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, but if you are one of the poor souls who haven’t experienced the first chapter of this zombie apocalypse epic that spawned a mega-popular television show, or if you just want the the digital volumes, then this should definitely be on your radar. At this weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, free downloads of the first volume of The Walking Dead will be available for the first 5,000 people that visit the Comixology booth (Booth #107).
