One of the coolest movie events that you could take part in over the past handful of years is called the Rolling Roadshow. Netflix sponsored the event once upon a time, and now the famed Alamo Drafthouse has teamed up with Levi’s to bring you the 2010 tour. You can see the newly unveiled schedule below!
The tour basically gives you the opportunity to go an see a movie at the place it was filmed or somewhere that relates greatly to the film. For example, previous shows have included Jaws being screened on the beaches of Martha’s Vineyard where it was filmed, and Clerks in Red Bank, NJ near the Quick Stop the movie took place in.
This year’s lineup has some very cool shows to check out…if you live nearby anyway. The one depressing thing about this is that it’s all over the country and you probably won’t get to see them all. Head on over to the other side to see the schedule now!
Sadly, if you live in the New England area such as myself you’ll have to travel to the New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia areas for shows. But if you make a week or so of it there’s a few to jump into. Rumor also has it that for the Jaws 35th anniversary, another JAWSfest will be taking place on the Cape and showing the movie there, so stay tuned on that one if you want a similar experience.
For me the ones that stand out as can’t-miss have to be the Rockython, Robocop, and The Godfather Part II. Keep in mind that these are all free to attend, so if one is in your area, go check it out!
