It feels like an eternity since the people over at Alamo Drafthouse announced that they would be opening a location in Los Angeles. The new location will not only be home to today’s films and cult classics but some fan-favorite events.

And now, the people behind all of that have announced that they plan to open the Los Angeles location’s doors this summer. More on the report below.

Hollywood, California is the entertainment capital of the world and yet it does not have one of the premiere movie theater franchise in the world, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

But that all is about to change with the announcement that new Alamo Drafthouse locations will be opening in Los Angeles and Manhattan. More on the story below.

Now that Sony has apparently thrown in the white towel with their not-upcoming-anymore brutally honest and eye-opening documentary on North Korea, The Interview…wait, it’s not a brutally honest and eye-opening documentary about the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea supreme leader Kim Jong-un? It’s actually a silly satirical comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco? Well, that’s weird. Someone should let them know.

While many theaters are running from all of this madness, the Dallas/Fort Worth Alamo Drafthouse has decided to turn up a defiant middle finger. The theater will replace The Interview with a special screening of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone‘s satirical marionette puppet comedy Team America: World Police. When someone talks or uses a cellphone during a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, they are booted from the theater. They believe that those actions disturb other moviegoers and ruin the theater experience. Most theater chains won’t implement this kind of rule and choose to play out some generic and non-threatening clip asking patrons not to use their cellphones.

But a London theater called The Prince Charles Cinema is taking this rule to the next hilarious (and potentially dangerous) level. They have volunteer ninjas dressed in all black bodysuits watching over the theaters looking out for any kinds of disturbance. When they do find one, they give disturbance to the one ruining the movie experience.

/Film has found someone who has experienced this for themselves, and it looks like The Prince Charles Cinema ninjas are effective.

Avid movie poster collectors would appreciate this piece of news. Alamo Drafthouse will be hosting a release of The Thing as a part of their celebration for “Summer of 82” and to commemorate the release, Mondo will be reprinting the iconic poster that Drew Struzan did himself. Struzan was one of the actual artists who drew the poster for the John Carpenter classic, but the reprint will feature no taglines, to title, cast, or crew, just the striking image of a man with light emanating from his face.
