| Mondo Unveils Exclusive Posters For Comic-Con 2013 |

Comic-Con is the one place where geek collectors go mad, and if you like to collect pop culture art pieces, then you will no doubt be at the Mondo booth at this year’s convention in San Diego in just a few days, waiting in line to score an exclusive piece from them. This year won’t be any different from any other year, as Mondo will be releasing limited edition posters that you only can get at the con. Artists like Drew Struzan, Martin Ansin, and Olly Moss will be there to sign their one of a kind pieces for those who are able to get them. They will be there to sign The Dark Tower, Conan the Barbarian, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, respectively. There will also be four kinds of posters for Pacific Rim. But of course, that is only the tip of the iceberg. We should expect very big things to be happening over at the booth. | Drew Struzan May Come Out Of Retirement To Draw Posters For New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy
Disney has made poster artist Drew Struzan an offer he probably cannot refuse. While details on what Star Wars fans could see in Episode VII remain under wraps, Disney has made a few calls out to the man who drew the posters for the first six Star Wars films, to possibly draw new posters for Episodes VII-IX. Now nothing is official, but fans would certainly like to see the poster artist back at work to draw up some very exciting posters for one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of all time. | Mondo Artists Honoring Universal Horror Monsters With New Art Gallery
Almost every movie poster aficionado knows that Mondo is the definitive source for original and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Many have had the good fortune of purchasing these pieces to hang on their walls, and those lucky enough to live in Austin, Texas have been treated to free posters at the Alamo Drafthouse. They also honor their artists by holding art galleries. So to commemorate the most terrifying season for film, Mondo is holding a very special Horror-themed art gallery. Artists like Laurent Durieux, Francesco Francavila, and Ken Taylor will be on hand to provide some of their interpretations of the iconic Universal Horror monsters. | Mondo Celebrates The Summer Of ’82 With Reprint Of Drew Struzan’s ‘The Thing’ Poster
Avid movie poster collectors would appreciate this piece of news. Alamo Drafthouse will be hosting a release of The Thing as a part of their celebration for “Summer of 82” and to commemorate the release, Mondo will be reprinting the iconic poster that Drew Struzan did himself. Struzan was one of the actual artists who drew the poster for the John Carpenter classic, but the reprint will feature no taglines, to title, cast, or crew, just the striking image of a man with light emanating from his face. | Drew Struzan Original ‘Police Academy’ Poster Art Going For 40K
Drew Struzan is retired now, and it’s doubtful we’ll ever see his like again, not in this universe. Struzan is by far one of the greatest movie poster artists the industry produced; he has created the posters for the Indiana Jones series, the 1997 Star Wars Special Edition re-releases, the Back to the Future trilogy, the 1982 version of The Thing, and other cherished films too numerous to count. He also designed the poster art for three of the Police Academy movies, and now a large selection of Struzan’s original acrylic paintings are being sold for big bucks at the artist’s website.
