Before God of War III was released on the PlayStation 3, a special new two-pack of the first and second games updated in beautiful Blu-ray high definition were released to really get fans excited for the new game and capitalize on the technologies we now have in movies and gaming.
Now it looks like another popular game developer has the same thoughts going on. According to The Sixth Axis (via G4), rumors have been circulating that Team Ico was possibly planning to release two of their immensely-popular titles, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, in a new two-game bundle, and that the duo would be updated in the highest of high definition Blu-ray for the PS3.
The announcement is not confirmed, but anyone who’s into video games knows that this would make all the sense in the world. Ico and Colossus are two of the most beautiful, most stunning video games that you will EVER play, and their gameplay is about as unique as you’ll find. They’re already incredible looking considering they were made for the PS2 and released in 2001 and 2005 respectively, but it only makes sense that they get this update.
Team Ico is also well into the creation of their next title, The Last Guardian, so it’s just a bit too perfect that these be available together on PS3 around the time we finally get our hands on that game as well.
A while back, it was announced that Shadow of the Colossus would be getting a movie adaptation as well, but who knows if that will ever happen. Having only played that one title myself, I can say that while I don’t know if a film would work, it’s insanely exciting to think about replaying it in HD.
Ooh. Covet. I haven’t played Ico yet, but loved SotC.

I never got around to playing either of those but I will definitely be checking them out if they appear in high definition goodness.
