‘World Of Warcraft’ Player Hits Level 85 Cap Without A Single Kill
space
The Movie God   |  @   |

I’ve never touched World of Warcraft (apart from maybe the inebriated hijacking of a friend’s game once or twice) and I don’t claim to know anything about the MMO. What I do know, however, is that this is pretty freakin’ crazy.

A player on the Feathermoon server has officially hit the level 85 cap with his character, a Night Elf Restoration Druid named Everbloom, without killing a single thing. The player also didn’t complete a single quest though it says otherwise in their stats — one quest called “Invitation to the Argent Tournament” supposedly marks you off for a quest after opening a letter. All the player did do to reach this level 85 was explore: an unbelievable amount of running, swimming, and searching everything in sight.

Here’s what the player had to say about their accomplishment:

Being on the ground and sneaking around mining and herbing and eventually archaeology, going everywhere to get every single point of discovery xp that you can, really gives you a chance to see an amazing world up close and personal. I spent hours swimming around reefs and flying to the farthest reaches of the maps.

If you like to explore, and enjoy a challenge I really REALLY recommend this, I have been playing since day 1 on other characters and I even have an original Loremaster (you know, back when it was hard) and I saw so MANY new things with Everbloom that it really made it worthwhile for me to continue on with this character, and each level was a major achievement!

Again, I can only assume this is an insane way to go about the game without knowing much. What do all of you WoW players think; impressive and intriguing way to play or a whole new level of “too much time on your hands” gaming?

  1. I wish I didn’t have a job too
This would be a very slow journey, the exploration experience would not do much, he got this from gathering skills.

  2. I’ve done this to a point – I leveled most of the way from 40 to 65 on my Draenai Hunter just from exploration and gathering because I wanted to have the “The Explorer” title before Cataclysm was released. However, I think I’d get incredibly bored playing all the way to 85 without a single kill… Not to mention that I can only imagine how much time they spent DEAD, since crap in that game is angry and will chase you down and kill you if you can’t outrun it.

  3. Actually, he did more than explore…he mined and gathered herbs. Blizzard changed the ways experience is earned recently, by allowing one to garnish experience from the gathering professions. In vanilla WoW, he wouldn’t have made it very far simply by exploring.
