This sounds totally logical, because yes, when I think of a perfect name to write a new film around the world of exorcisms, I think of the same guy who penned a heartwarming indie musical like Guy And Madeline On A Park Bench.
That’s exactly the case, as THR is reporting that Guy And Madeline director Damien Chazelle has been tapped to write the sequel to last year’s rather solid horror film, The Last Exorcism. The new film will begin production this Fall, and will follow the fall out from the first film, which followed a preacher who, with a documentary crew, gets in over their heads when a seemingly fraudulent exorcism becomes far more real than they could have expected.
Personally, I love this news. I’m a huge fan of Chazelle, and think that his indie sensibilities could really do this sequel well. He seems to have a passion for thrillers/horror films (he’s working on a few alongside this), so here’s to hoping he could do this franchise well.

They should call it The Last Excorcism: No, Really, this one is the last.
