Unfortunately, I missed the Batman: Arkham City due to quite a few complications, but luckily my favorite editors/site owners in the world, Empress Eve and Dave3, were there and provided me with some notes and an awesome video of some recorded live gameplay footage!
You can watch 7 1/2 minutes of the gameplay footage demo’d at the panel right here below. (Yes, they played the game right at the panel; it’s not a pre-recorded demo, it’s all new!)
Now, there’s a lot of stuff that we already knew that they went over like the fact that Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman, Paul Dini wrote the screenplay, and this game is much larger than its predecessor, but most of the news was within the gameplay. Obviously, the gameplay looks amazing, but the coolest thing is the immense number of thugs that you can fight at once, and it’s into the thirties. Also, there’s more devices, more punch combos. It’s just more, more, more! Woooo!!!
Batman: Arkham City for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC will be released on October 18, 2011. I could talk about how much I can’t wait to play this game for days, and I will be doing that (just not here), so onto the gameplay…
WARNING: There’s a very huge SPOILER at the 6:45 minute mark in this video, and I mean huge. So, if you don’t want to see it, then stop that video when he says there’s a spoiler coming. Because it’s a big one. But I can’t wait for it, so just ignore me and go to the video while I talk obsessively under my breath.
