Over the past few weeks three of the most anticipated films of 2012 saw their trailers premiere to mostly rapturous receptions. A few days ago someone was inspired to create a Alien/Prometheus mash-up trailer. The clip worked perfectly because those two movies are genetically linked at the story and visual levels. Before that the first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was reedited into something infinitely superior to what the studio put out.
Thus it was only a matter of time before the well-received second trailer for The Dark Knight Rises got its own fan edit. Some genius decided to take the soundtrack from the trailer and mate it with clips from Disney’s 1994 animated blockbuster The Lion King. You can watch the final product here below.
Personally I’ve never been a fan of The Lion King, catchy soundtrack notwithstanding. But I have to say the scenes chosen to go with the Dark Knight Rises trailer audio sync up very well. When the chanting begins it’s quite effective.
