Lock-Out, which on certain days goes by the alternate title MS: Maximum Security One, is the latest product from French action filmmaker Luc Besson‘s (La Femme Nikita) assembly line of big-budget drive-in movies, and judging from the early previews it’s shaping up to be one of the best.
The latest trailer for the movie has been released and you can watch it here below.
The plot of Lock-Out revolves around a mission to rescue the U.S. President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from the confines of an orbiting prison colony stocked to the rooftops with the planet’s most detestable scum. The only man for the job is convicted criminal and professional wise-ass Snow (Guy Pearce). Armed with a heavy arsenal of weapons and ready-made comical quips Snow is launched into a guaranteed suicide mission with extreme overtones of danger and every brawny action flick made since the early 1980’s.
Lock-Out is written and directed by newcomers James Mather and Stephen St. Leger. The supporting cast features Peter Stormare (Fargo), Lennie James (The Walking Dead), Jacky Ido (Inglourious Basterds), and Vincent Regan (300).
Makes one wonder if the title “Lockdown” was already taken. With this and the new Judge Dredd, glad to see the “Near Future/Cyberpunk” genre may be back.
