HBO has announced that they have ordered a second season of their brand new series, Luck.
The show, which officially premiered just this past Sunday, follows the behind-the-scenes happenings of the world of horse racing and gambling. It stars Dustin Hoffman (Kramer vs. Kramer, Rain Man) and Nick Nolte (The Prince of Tides, Warrior), and comes from Heat and Collateral director Michael Mann, as well as Deadwood creator and writer David Milch.
The pilot episode has reeled in over 3 million viewers so far (including its early premiere in December) and has received positive praise, leading to the order.
The second season of Luck, which will be for 10 episodes, enters into production around the end of February, with a January 2013 premiere date planned.
