Marvel Comics has been promoting their next summer event, Avengers Vs. X-Men, as one of the biggest stories they’ve ever told. Well, honestly I took that with a grain of salt, because that’s what they say about every new comic book event they release. I took Avengers Vs. X-Men to be a fun tights and fights story with elements of almost fan fiction in play because fans always debate which heroes could take each other out.
Now, Marvel has announced a pretty cool partnership with MTV Geek to further get the word out about this summer story arc. So, maybe this is gonna be a big deal? We’ll just have to wait and see on that one.
At any rate, Marvel Comics and MTV Geek have partnered to create a series of behind the scenes short documentary webisodes following the creation of the newer story called Avengers VS X-Men War Journals. The series debuts on MTV.com March 28, 2012. Each episode will go behind the scenes of the house of ideas and offer a voyeuristic view of key planning meetings, writing retreats, and much more. The show is said to feature most of the super star creative staff working on the project offering their insights into the characters and story.
Axel Alonso, Editor In Chief, Marvel Comics said:
“We’ve never shown just what goes on in our top secret meetings””from the development of our best ideas to heated debates””and this is the first time fans will see just how it all goes down, along with new insights into key moments of this series.”
MTV Digital Executive Producer Tom Akel said:
“The characters and talent involved in Avengers Vs X-Men are iconic and we’ll be with them every step of the way to chronicle the making of this epic event.”
The show launches on March 28th on MTV.com and Avengers VS X-Men #1 hits store shelves on April 4th.
