| Pre-Order ‘Game Of Thrones’ Video Game, Get A Hardcover Concept Art Book
Whether the upcoming video game based on author George R.R. Martin‘s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series and the HBO series of the same name, Game of Thrones, will end up being good or not is to be determined. We’ve seen some promising gameplay videos, but not a whole lot else is known about it, and it’s hard to know what to expect when the game is released on May 15 of this year. Despite the fact that the game itself is still up in the air, a new deal is being offered that will surely lure a few buyers in early. If you pre-order Game of Thrones on either Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC (link not yet available), you will get a free hardbound concept art book titled Game of Thrones: Visuals From the RPG.

Geek goddess and Roller Derby maven Toni Carr, a.k.a. Joan of Dark, has whipped up the amazing Knits For Nerds as her “gushy love letter to the nerd community.” That love is palpable in every beautifully photographed and neatly arranged page of this how-to guide for geek garb. Inspired by the handmade costumes and adornments worn by sci-fi convention attendees, Carr has created 30 knitting patterns for such projects as Hobbit Feet Slippers, Trek Girl Dress, Big Bang Sweater Vest (for girls and guys!), and the Super Awesome Fantastic Mega Cute Manga Leg Warmers (which are fabulous, by the way). My personal favorites are the Dragon Rider Gloves and Padme’s Battle Cape.

The nature of the connection between Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus and the original Alien film series has been the most hotly debated topic regarding the forthcoming sci-fi prequel. The domestic and international teaser trailers have featured designs and concepts seemingly derived from H.R. Giger‘s groundbreaking creations from Scott’s 1979 face-screwing, chest-bursting space shocker, including glimpses of the derelict spacecraft that set the plot of Alien in motion. But Scott and company have been pretty tight-lipped so far about whether or not Prometheus shares more than just a little DNA with its xenomorphic cinematic brethren. In an interview with the Hungarian news website Mozinezo, Scott spoke out in regards to the character being played by Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential, The Proposition) and gave us a little insight into just how much Prometheus figures into the origins of the Alien series.

In God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, we follow millionaire Eliot Rosewater on a bizarre, cross-country journey to find “heritage and philanthropic outcome” while he introduces the work of science fiction author Kilgore Trout, a character some believe to be Vonnegut’s alter ego for he appears in many of his works.
