
There is indeed a movie based on the popular computer game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? on the way. The game saw players using clues to travel the globe trying to find various wanted criminals, while ultimately after the ultra-elusive Carmen Sandiego herself.
The project has hired writer Darren Lemke to come in and script the movie, which was acquired by Walden Media from Houghton Mifflin last fall. Lemke has previously worked on Shrek Forever After, as well as Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack and the Beanstalk retelling, Jack the Giant Killer.

Among the producers on this new take on Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is Jennifer Lopez, who may also star as the super-thief.
No word yet on what exactly the movie’s storyline will be, or when we can expect a release.
And, naturally, this wouldn’t be a real story worth reading without a little nostalgic reminder of many of your childhoods. There will be horrible hairdos. There will be confused and awkward children. There is an American flag t-shirt.

Catherine Zeta-Jones would be a perfect Carmen Sandiego. I started writing a spec and she was my choice for lead.
