Dwayne Johnson, who is practically built to fit any sort of muscular character for TV or film, has confirmed that he is in negotiations to play Lobo, a space renegade riding a star-hopping chopper.
It seems quite fitting that Johnson play as the famed DC Comic anti-hero for a couple of reasons. For one reason, he certainly fits the profile of Lobo. The other reason is that he’s been rumored to play as the anti-hero for quite some time, so its quite nice to hear the news come straight from the horse’s mouth. Of course Johnson stopped short of actually confirming that he was signed on for the role.
Johnson confirmed the news via a Twitter chat. Check out the photo below.
This bit of news is sure to get some Lobo fans riled up. Though the film’s development is still on going, it looks as though we are getting closer to seeing Lobo start production. The tweet also confirmed that Joel Silver (Lethal Weapon) and Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) are currently working on the film.
This isn’t the first time that the former WWE wrestler was attached to appear as a DC character. At one point in time Johnson was rumored to play as Black Adam in Shazam.
So there you have it, Johnson is in talks. Now the most important question is: will he sign on? Do you think The Rock has it in him to play as Lobo?

Rock as Lobo? I don’t see it. Rock has attitude, just not the right kind of attitude to pull Lobo off.

I could see this going either way. It could work or it could be all wrong.
