Edgar Wright‘s next movie is the long-awaited third film in the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy, The World’s End, with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. After that it was looking more and more like he would finally get to direct Ant-Man for Marvel, but now a new project has come into play.

It’s been reported that Wright is set to direct Collider for Paramount Pictures, and that he’ll co-write the script with Mark Protosevich. On top of that, the movie will be produced by J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions.

Nothing at all is known about Collider yet, side for the fact that it is something in the realms of the sci-fi genre.

Wright is known for writing and directing Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. He also worked on the screenplay for The Adventures of Tintin.

Abrams is of course the director of Star Trek and its upcoming sequel, as well as writer and director of Super 8 and Mission: Impossible III. He’s also a creator/writer/producer/director of such shows as LOST, Fringe, Alias, and Felicity. He even worked on the screenplays for movies like Armageddon, Joy Ride, Forever Young, Regarding Henry, and Gone Fishin’ in his early days, some of which are under the name Jeffrey Abrams.

Protosevich is a fast-rising screenwriter, first making a name for himself on Tarsem Singh’s The Cell and the 2006 remake, Poseidon. After that he took off with the 2007 Will Smith hit I Am Legend, which led to a job working on the story for Marvel’s Thor and some big upcoming projects including the movie version of the BioWare video game Mass Effect, Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy, and Jurassic Park IV.
