Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison Productions are currently developing a movie based on the French animated/live-action/comic book panel hybrid short from Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste, titled Bad Toys II, for Columbia Pictures.
The short is basically a man playing with his old toys, but presented in the style of a Michael Bay movie (just as most of us imagined it as kids), drawing much inspiration from the highway car chase in Bays Bad Boys II.

The Happy Madison version will follow the same premise, with an older gentleman revisiting his childhood through his son’s toys, which plays out in his mind like a big-budget blockbuster movie.
Sandler and Happy Madison are no strangers to taking short films that hit the ‘net and developing them into movies. A couple of years back we saw a fantastic short tiled Pixels that they eventually acquired and began developing, though we’ve not heard much about where that movie stands since a writer was announced.
Would you see a Michael Bay-type action movie played out with toys?
