Anna Kendrick, Imogen Poots & Felicity Jones On Shortlist For Mysterious Role In ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

There would be no hero without the love interest. Aside from saving the world from any sort of dire situation, the hero comes back home to the arms of their love. But that seems a bit difficult for Captain America, considering he’s been under a very cold sleep for almost 70 years. So any hopes of reuniting with Peggy Carter would be near impossible.
But as luck would have it, directors Anthony and Joe Russo hope to spark a new romance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. According to The New York Post, they have narrowed down their choices to three very capable actresses: Anna Kendrick, Felicity Jones, and Imogen Poots.
There has been no confirmation as to what role the chosen actress would play, but since these are high-profile actresses, the rumor is that it is for the role of Sharon Carter, the niece of Peggy Carter. For those who are unfamiliar with the character, Sharon is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who plays a vital role in the Winter Soldier storyline.
All three actresses would be fine choices for the role. Kendrick has played a multitude of roles ranging from live-action to animation. She even has an Oscar nomination under her belt. So it’s no surprise that this role has finally landed on her doorstep.
Jones was recently in the running to play alongside Chris Pine in the untitled Jack Ryan reboot. However, that role went to Keira Knightley. Despite that, Jones being up for this role says a lot about her abilities as an actress.
Finally there’s Poots. She starred in last year’s undeservedly underseen remake of Fright Night and can next be seen in Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups.
So far Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie have starring roles in the film. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled for a April 4, 2014 release.
Which of these actresses would you like to see take the role?
I don’t know what it’s for, but I’d choose Imogen Poots
