When everybody gets captivated by a TV show, it’s almost a certainty that they will be begging for a big screen adaptation of it. It’s happened many times before and it’s happening once more with The Walking Dead. The popularity of the hit AMC drama continues to grow and now that the show is going into its third season, fans want to see that happen. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that there are talks (and I use that word very lightly) of a film happening. The site reports that talks of a film adaptation are clearly “non-business conversations,” which means that it’s a long ways away from happening. Even if there is a feature film adaptation, there is the matter of finishing the television drama properly without making it look like the film was made to earn some extra cash. The Walking Dead has no end in sight, and with no scheduled end date, it’s hard to tell when serious talks of adapting the show into a film would begin.

It’s rare to see a classic film get re-released in major theater chains. But many studios are now commemorating the anniversary of the successful titles in their library by polishing the sound and picture quality and giving them a short theatrical release. Now with the upcoming release of the original three Indiana Jones movies on Blu-Ray this September, Paramount will be releasing Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX theaters from September 7 to the 13. ScreenCrush was the first to discover the news of the film’s re-release in IMAX, but Paramount refused to comment on the subject. Still, ticketing sites like Fandango are already posting the film on their schedules for IMAX screens everywhere. Yes this includes the traditional 70mm IMAX screen as well as those fake ones as well. Considering that the film was never shot with 70mm cameras in the first place, this shouldn’t bother the IMAX purists.

Kristen Stewart has been in the news for other reasons than promoting Snow White and the Huntsman and now her actions may be the reason Universal has decided not to bring the actress back for their planned sequel for Snow White and the Huntsman. Universal now plans to take their ideas for a Snow White and The Huntsman sequel and turn it into a spin-off focusing on just the Huntsman, played by Chris Hemsworth, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade reports that Rupert Sanders will most likely come back to direct the new film, but that Stewart has been dropped. Also, the film won’t use the script that David Koepp wrote and that the writer is “being settled out of his rich contract.” All this means that Universal is back to square one with the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel.

After being the center of the superhero news for the better part of the past few weeks, it looks like we are at the final lap of the controlling film rights to Daredevil. Even though Fox loved the vision that director Joe Carnahan laid out, it wasn’t enough for them to get the film into production before the October 10th deadline, which means that they are letting the deal expire and the rights will revert back to Marvel. Variety reports that Fox had turned in an extension request to keep the character, only to see that request be denied. Yesterday, Carnahan recently tweeted that he didn’t expect to get the film into production any time soon and that his dreams of bringing his vision of Daredevil to life were pretty much dead. Last night, the director posted sizzle reel he created to pitch his vision of Daredevil to Fox.
